Making A Kick Butt Email Marketing Campaign

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

A good email marketing campaign is, somewhat, hard to plan out and execute, but it can be incredibly profitable! This is the reason email marketing is so popular. The reason behind today’s article is to equip you with proper information and enable you to “hit the ground running.”

Before even thinking about starting your email marketing campaign, you need people’s email, of course! This is where many marketers make mistakes and buy niche specific email lists. I am against it, because the fastest ways you can lose customers if they are getting emails they don’t want to receive.

Invest Time In Your Email Marketing Campaign

So, you best bet would be to invest time into building your own list and gaining people’s trust, before sending email marketing campaigns and promoting products.

Furthermore, if you send emails to people who don’t even know you and never opted in to receive your emails, you can harm the reputation of your website/company and ruin your business before you even started it.

TIP! Your emails must be engaging, short and straight to the point, in order to get the maximum click-through rate. Don’t expect to be successful with your first email marketing campaign, it takes time, effort and experience.

 Email Marketing Campaign

People hate spammers and get hundreds of spam emails a day, you need to be different; first get their consent to receive your emails, second always have something valuable to say and third don’t bother them with more than one email a day.

Even if you have good, valuable information to share, if you spam people with dozens of emails a day, they might see you as spammer and block your email, or even report you and mess up your entire email marketing campaign.

Always be sure your emails have a link where people can click to unsubscribe from your mailing list. It can be bad for the business, but it is mandatory!

Also, make sure that link works and they are able to unsubscribe successfully.

TIP! I already said you need to keep your email short and to the point, we live in a busy world and most of us just skip long emails. Writing long, boring emails can uin your email marketing campaign.

Always Proofread Your Email Marketing Campaign

After you have set your email marketing campaign, have someone proofread your email(s) before you send them out. It is a short and easy job, but it can mean the difference between a sale and a wasted effort.

If people read your email and find that it is filled with grammatical and spelling errors, you will lose your credibility.

When writing your emails, always make sure you use a friendly tone and try to connect with your readers. Of course, sending personalized emails to a large group of people is never an option, but try to find something in common for people on your list and use it to connect with your subscribers.

Before you even start thinking about what you are about to say in the body of the email, you need to forge an awesome headline, something to grab people’s attention and “force” them to open your email. A good headline is a foundation of every good email marketing campaign.

TIP! Make sure to “connect” your email marketing campaign to the right offer on your website. If you play to market a specific product, don’t send them to your home page. This is just common sense, but there are people who make mistakes here.

When thinking about the ultimate goal of your email marketing campaign and collecting people’s emails, you should consider a double opt-in. Some marketers do it, some don’t, you need to decide whether it would be something good for your business of an overkill.

You see, sending out emails and spamming people is easy, but if you want to be really successful and offer people value, you need to plan out your email marketing campaign from the beginning to the very end, making sure every little detail is taken care of.
