Why Should I Have a Blog?

Have you ever wondered why you should have a blog

If you are in any kind of business, and you have looked at marketing it on the internet, you have probably asked yourself “Why should I have a blog?”

In a different blog I talked about the difference between a blog and a static website which you can read by clicking on my blog:

Today I am going to talk about why a blog is so important, and where your focus should be.

First, your blog is your businesse’s central hub.

Your blog should be very focused on your business, your products or services.

If your business is hair styling, your blog should talk about hair styling and beauty.

It’s not the place to talk about your cats. Get a different blog for that.

If you sell dog training, your blog should be about dog training.

You get the idea.

Second, you should set a positive expectancy for your audience. Give them information that they can use about your product or service for free.

This can be a tip that they can get a benefit from right away.

This is important because this creates a bond between your business and your potential customer.

It builds trust, and people will only buy from someone they know, like and trust.

It also brings people back to get more information from you.

And when people come back because they are getting their needs met on your blog, they will buy from you when their need is a product or service you provide.

Here is the secret to being successful with your blog.

Have your perfect customer in mind, and every piece of information you put on your blog is specifically for that person.

If you write an article about your product or service, write it to that perfect customer.

If you are doing a video, talk specifically to the person you are selling to.

This is critical in having a blog that gets looked at every now and again, and having a blog that people follow every day.

So if you have asked yourself “Why should I have a blog?” …

… it’s because you can give very specific information to a very specific customer which will build trust in your brand which can lead to more sales for you.

If you’re not sure if you should have a blog or a website, click on this link and read my blog about that question.
