What is marketing and how is important to entrepreneurs? This is a very important question that every business, organization and individual should answer adequately, irrespective of the size of the business. If you go wrong in marketing, you are not likely to meet the objectives of your business. Marketing refers to all the activities involved in ensuring that that products and services are availed in the hands of prospects or potential customers. It is telling the right things to the right people at the right time and it involves several other things to ensure success.

To be successful in marketing, you need to coin strategies you will be using while marketing your products as well as a marketing action plan. In addition to that, there should be an effective way of assessing how each of the marketing strategies chosen works out.

This is the type of marketing where businesses focus on what customers want and avail them. While using this type of marketing, you do not have to reach out your customers with products you already have. You should instead do a need analysis to understand what your potential customers need. Once you have a clear knowledge of what they what, you can then avail this products.

During inbound marketing, the research conducted is meant to achieve the following:

  • Specific groups of people that might have some special needs
  • Ways of meeting needs of various potential customers, whether individual or in a group
  • Ways which each of the targeted group might want to access the new products and services
  • The number of customers who will be willing to pay for the price of the products
  • Design of products and services to make customers buy them
  • · The ways, which the product should be identified

Although it is not the ideal type of marketing, it is actually what most the companies use and it involves any efforts taken by a business to introduce a new product to people so that they can buy it. These companies know ‘what is marketing’ and the strategies to use but they still have to bring something new to take potential customers by surprise. There are several strategies used to ensure that outbound marketing is successful.

  • · Some of the tools used in outbound marketing include the following:
  • · Designing billboards to promote the new products
  • · Making cold calls
  • · Making banners and advertising this products on various websites
  • Use of media as well as other social networks
  • Providing customer service
