Importance of Marketing – Understanding Marketing
In every business organization, the importance of marketing cannot be overlooked. Marketing is the activity of established institutions, the process of creating, relaying, delivering and exchanging offerings that are meaningful or valuable to clients, customers, partners and even the entire society in a greater view. It can also be described as the act of business to consumer interaction in which the business creates value and presents it to clients or consumers. Marketing is used by many businesses to create strong customer relationships with the aim of creating awareness, sales and sometimes even the consumer’s view on brands.
The processes of business such as production and distribution succeed each other and are dependent on the power of marketing. Whereas the distribution part is closer to the concept of sales, production remains distantly associated although it is controlled by the forces of sales that relate directly to demand. The importance of marketing is, however, closely related to that function of sales in any business environment.
Marketing in itself covers the promotions, advertizing, sales and public relations whereas sales is a function of demand and supply. Sales is the act of passing on the products and services a business deals in to a consumer or customer, and is aided by marketing. Therefore, marketing becomes a crucial aspect that determines the success of many businesses in their competitive environments. It is from here that we can derive the importance of marketing in every business establishment.
Importance of Marketing: Product Awareness
The primary goal of marketing has everything to do with the concept of the “market.” Not one business that does not do anything about letting its customers (or market for that matter) find out by themselves about the products or services it is selling. Even those that have established a customer base and loyalty strive to market their products to their customers.
The only way any new business, and henceforth established organizations, can make the market aware of their products is by promoting them through advertisements. Many companies allocate big budgets to marketing than any other area of business simply because they are looking to bolster sales in order to keep their chain of production, supply and sales in good motion. Through marketing techniques such as advertising, and promotions, information about products produced by a company is relayed to the public to create awareness about the existence of the product or service, how it is used, its price and other aspects that might trigger sales.
Importance of Marketing: Boosting Product Sales
Awareness about a company’s products is succeeded by the targeting of sales through marketing. Once the public or the target consumers learn of the products and services you are offering, a business expects to see a rise in sales and consequently a rise in the company’s revenues. Paper ads, television commercials, online adverts, radio commercials and many other forms of marketing techniques are used to enhance sales and ultimately the bottom line of the company.
The basis of tapping into the importance of marketing is that the more a company exposes or presents its products and services to the market, the more sales it is likely to make because the assumption is that more people will develop interest in the products they are selling. Effective marketing strategies do not just involve presenting the product or service to the market. They are also about enticing the consumer to buy the product once they learn about it. Therefore, the use of consumer offers, promotions and other methods of selling to enhance the sales of the company.
Importance of Marketing: Enhancing Company Reputation
The role of many marketers is to ensure a business stands superior over competitors, and one way of measuring this effect is by selling more to dominate the market. The importance of marketing is directly replayed in the success of a company. To build the reputation of a company, marketers strive to create dominance on the market through stamping brand name recognition or just ensuring that the customers feel the product recall effect.
Businesses that tend to have established brands grow at better rates due to enhanced publicity and reception by the market as a result of proper marketing techniques. The importance of marketing can only be realized when creative and innovative methods are used to engage customers and convince them to buy products a company is selling.
