To generate leads this way; you have to do some background work. On facebook you are allowed to add people as friends and have people add you as friends. There is a cap on the amount of friends you can have on facebook, the limit is 5,000. These are the people that are going to see every status update you put up. So if you want to generate leads- you always want to work on increasing your friend list on facebook. However, you don’t want to add random people, you want to add people interested in the same topic you wanted to generate leads for. You can find these people in groups and fanpages related to your subject matter.
Facebook Groups
You want to create a Facebook Group on the topic you want to generate leads for and invite all your facebook friends to be part of the group. This is how to generate leads using facebook groups. You also want to join as many related groups as possible in your niche. The maximum amount of groups facebook will allow you to join is 300. The next thing you want to do is post in as many of these groups as possible sharing valuable information.
Facebook Fanpages
This is similar to groups, however there are no limits to the amount of people you can have on your fanpage. Another great thing about pages is that when you post a status update on your page- it shows up on the timeline of everyone who has liked your page. Fanpages are viral in nature- this means their friends can also see it on their timeline and like your page if it interests them.
