So I had a stressful day. I’ve been having them a lot lately. Last month it was back to back Cataract Surgeries, 10 days ago IVIG (7 hours transfusion in the hospital) The Google+ slaps me down because I posted a picture on my profile they didn’t like. This week it’s Facebook. They slapped me down today for an old landing tab I had buried on my site I had forgotten about. So I had a rough day. I took a step back and did some breathing exercises, got a few chats from friends supporting me and I found some tips on stress reduction and stress prevention. Enjoy.

A great tip that can help you keep your stress levels down is to stop relying on your alarm clock to wake up in the morning. Waking up to an alarm clock can make you very stressed out. Learning to wake up naturally is a much better alternative to an alarm clock.
When it comes to dealing with stress consider meditation. This can be a great way to not only relax your body but also clear your mind of everything that might be causing you stress. Consider buying audio tapes or books to assist you with different ways of meditation.
When it comes to dealing with stress, one way that may help out is identifying a comfort food and always making sure that you have it available when feeling stressed. This is important because sometimes that is all that it takes to relieve yourself of stress, and as long as it is not too unhealthy, you are taking care of a meal and stress relief all at once.
One great way to deal with stress is to try to visualize something calming. This is important because if you are somewhere that does not allow for some sort of physical relaxation, you can try to imagine it and calm yourself down. An example would be to imagine the relaxing nature of a hot shower while you are at an office meeting.
Be sure you get enough sleep every night. Whether or not you are getting enough sleep will determine how stressed out you get and how you handle stress. It is important for adults to get the recommended amount of sleep, at least 8 hours, every night to help deal with stress.
Meditation can be a great way for you to relieve stress. Try meditating each night before you go to bed. Turn off anything around you, close your eyes, and clear out your mind. Don’t think about things you need to get done or problems that you need to solve. Just let your mind relax for a little while and focus on each breath. If your mind starts wondering, just bring it back to your breath. Shutting off your brain takes practice, but each practice session is working off your stress.
A very simple way to reduce stress is to start your day ten or fifteen minutes earlier.
