St. Patrick’s Day in 2013- What is it all about and why wear green?
Originally, the colour associated with Saint Patrick was blue. Over the years the colour green and its association with Saint Patrick’s Day grew.[11] Green ribbons and shamrocks were worn in celebration of St Patrick’s Day as early as the 17th century.[12] Saint Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish, and the ubiquitous wearing and display of shamrocks and shamrock-inspired designs has become a feature of the day.[13][14] In the 1798 rebellion, to make a political statement, Irish soldiers wore full green uniforms on 17 March in hopes of catching public attention.[11] The phrase “the wearing of the green”, meaning to wear a shamrock on one’s clothing, derives from a song of the same name.
Why do people still get Drunk on St. Patrick’s Day in 2013
Have you ever hung out at a party on St. Patrick’s day, and was the only one SOBER there? It’s a sight to see isn’t it? Your friend is doing all types of Stupid things he wouldn’t normally do like dance in the most ridiculous manner possible, flailing his arms about. How about when someone insults him he goes into a rage and all of a sudden his “Beer Muscles” take over and he starts a bar room BRAWL?
Or your girlfriend that you go out with starts to cry when something doesn’t go her way, and she will give into most SEXUAL desires without a Second thought. A lot of psychological research points to the fact that your inhibitions are lowered when you Get Drunk and you will do whatever you feel at the moment; sort of like when you were a kid.
If you ever watch children play (besides the adult activities) the concept is pretty much the same. Children are not as rational as adults and depend on their “Unconscious Mind” or the mind that FEELS instead of Thinking. It has been debated, that up until age 6 the conscious mind hasn’t developed completely and so being Logical is quite OUT of the question. When a child doesn’t get his or her way in the candy store they Scream, Stomp their feet, and Cry to try to change the outcome of the situation.
Likewise a Drunk couple that just got into a fight will display the same unconscious reactions, and in turn the guy will usually become that “little boy” again being all Macho, and the girl will become that “little girl” because she will cry and look for attention. Anytime alcohol touches a person’s lips, then they will soon start to REGRESS back to a time when they had no barriers or inhibitions and so the emotional roller coaster then begins.
Alcohol alters a person’s sober state, and when it does that, that “little boy” or “little girl” inside comes out to play 
Try being sober at a party full of Drunk people. It may just happen to be more fun if you observe whats going on before getting hammered yourself.
