What You Need to Know Before Purchasing an RV

One of our family’s biggest dreams is to purchase an RV and travel the US. We will road-school our children. Instead of just reading about places in textbooks, we will go see them in person.
We were recently woken up from that dream by an RV salesman. 🙁
While we were out shopping for the kind of RV that we wanted to purchase, a salesman pointed out something to us that we had not previously been aware of. He told us to beware of manufacturers who use formaldehyde in their products.
If you know me personally, you know that I care very much about eating organic foods as much as possible.
I feel the same way about organic materials.
I want to keep the toxins out of our lives as much as possible. So, instead of giving up on my dream, I started doing research on how to keep my dream alive.
If you’re not familiar with formaldehyde, it is a highly toxic chemical used many manufacturers to preserve their products. It has been scientifically linked to cancer in animals when tested and is most-likely doing the same to humans, if not at least causing health issues.
It’s not only RV’s that are affected, it is in many of today’s building materials. New home construction and in many common flooring and pressed-wood materials.

I remember After Katrina, The Fema Trailer were So Dangerous, I cant remember All of what Happened But there are Thousands of Trailers that were not inhabitable. Si I can imagine the Formaldehyde could be prevalent in RV’s I just know you’ll Find an Alternative. There Must be A company out there That addresses this and Using Alternative Materials.
Woah had no idea about this! My fiance’s parents have an RV and have travelled around ALL of Australia with it. They just came back from six weeks in Tasmania… sounds so fun! Hopefully they start manufacturing them in safer ways!
