The Quitting Epidemic

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

In America today there is a ‘quitting epidemic’.

A person meets just a little bit of resistance or success doesn’t come instantaneously…..

They just walk away….

One of the things that has made great people great has been perseverance. Staying on course..Setting a goal and being committed to it….refusing to be defeated…

I have an online business that grows as you build a larger team of people. I have had some success doing this but no matter how much my business grows, I still take it hard when people quit. I almost wish they had just told me ‘No’ in the beginning and saved me all the trouble.

When you’re in business with me, I give 110%. I invest in my people. I spend time with them. I teach them and I train them. So….when a person turns around and quits, I feel like I’ve been led on. I feel cheated and I feel dirty ( LOL..not quite but it does feel bad..)

What inspired this rant was an email that I received today:

What they said :

” Miller,I am seriously considering pulling out from the Empower Network program. I am not getting any leads at all and am not seeing results. I think I am going to focus my attention on something else that seems to be more profitable for me. I appreciate all the help that you have offered, but trying to find people to sign up for a paid program like this is hard to do. ”

What I hear :

” Miller, This is too much work and too hard. What I want is immediate gratification. I’m going to go do something that appears to be easier. I’ll probably find some type of excuse if I fail at that too. ”

This is Important : If you’re in a bad relationship, or you just lost a fight where there were 20 of them, then get out or accept defeat. But cmon..where’s the battle in you ? The best things in life are not free. Behind everything of any worth is someone who was willing to make the required sacrifice. Our children, our spouses, our careers…if we are to give those things the best that we have to offer then we have to hang in there even when things get a little tough.
