Blogging:

Is blogging for everyone?  I admit that I am still a newbie when it comes to blogging, and there is so much that I have yet to learn. Blogging is basically like creating an online journal. The blogger has the option of creating a new post whenever they choose to do so.

Some bloggers may choose only one specific topic to blog or post about, others may choose a variety of topics or subjects. Most often they choose a topic that they know a lot about or is typically related in some form or way that the blogger desires. Lets explore some things about basic blogging.

Blogging Private vs Public Blogs

Blogs can be private or public. A private blog is one in which only the blogger and others who have been approved by the blogger can view the blog postings. Public blogs are available to any and all users of the internet. The blogger can opt to make his or her blog private or public this depends on whether or not he or she is comfortable with others reading their blog.

An example of this say a blogger creates a blog for the purpose of venting about the frustrations in life may opt to keep it private so that friends and family are not able to read them, this would be more like having a journal that is saved on their computer instead of writing one for someone to find and read. The advantage of this is that it can be in a password protected file.

Today however most bloggers have found a purpose to blog, such as to promote a cause or an organization and even a business. These blog posts would be made public so they can reach as many internet users as possible.

Their are others who create a blog  to express themselves through their writing, poetry or other form’s of expression and they can choose to make their blog either private or public, again depending on whether or not they want these feelings and topics made available to others. Some bloggers in this situation will make the blog public because they want to reach others who may either share their feelings or benefit from reading their blogs. Therefore the other bloggers may opt  to make it private because they do not want others to see these personal forms of expression.

Blogging Professionally

Blogging today is actually being done as a source of income. That is how I came to be a blogger. There are companies who maintain a network of bloggers and the system they maintain is set up so that individuals blog for the purpose of having an income. Some companies may have a network set up that will compensate them on a per post basis or the number of page views the blog receives. A career as a blogger requires a great deal of dedication. The blogger must be willing and able to update the blog and keep the blog interesting to readers.

Blogging for Personal Reasons

Bloggers may use their blog to stay in touch with family and friends. While others may use a blog to express themselves or just to share information with others. Blogs created for personal reasons can be fun however the blogger must avoid the process of maintaining the blog to the point of it becoming a stressful situation. That said a blog made for personal reasons should be an enjoyable experience for the blogger.
