New to Network Marketing? Be a Successful Apprentice!

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

You cannot expect to jump in to the world of Internet Marketing and gain immediate success. Every profession has a learning curve, and looking at yourself as an apprentice who researches the tools and skills they need from those who have paved the path before them is the best way to become a successful Internet marketing expert.

Stay humble. Expecting a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow isn’t realistic. Set obtainable goals, learn from others and take your apprenticeship seriously. If you do not take things seriously, you will be like a traveler without a map who is lost on the “information highway.” Look at the information out there as a guide to your successful Internet marketing campaign.

Asking your up-line and your independent distributors for advice is never a bad thing. It strengthens connections and helps you build a vital network of affiliates. Even the experts couldn’t be where they are today without the advice of others. Going at it on your own is not recommended.

Finding networking marketing experts and leaders in the field has become increasingly easy to do and is well worth your time and effort. Sign up for their newsletters, follow them on Facebook and Twitter, read their blogs and make use of their free eBooks or videos. Gain valuable advice and tips from those who are in the know. This is what an apprenticeship looks like: looking, listening, learning, and most importantly, absorbing the information that is presented to you.

Hit the ground running with on-the-job training. Learn by doing and observing others succeed at what you want to do. Look around in your circle of friends, there may be someone who is willing to let you do some Internet marketing for them. You may not get paid in cash, yet you will get paid with knowledge. Countless books and software are also around, so invest in some of these for a successful future.

Keep up with market trends and technology. Things change at a rapid pace in the world of Internet marketing. Something that you recently learned could become outdated. Be aware of bloggers and leaders in the industry that you trust and find out when their information was published. Many people taut themselves as an expert, so find the information to back up their claim. Learn from those who keep up-to-date with current trends and technology. Leaders who have changed over time are solid mentors.

You will make mistakes. What everyone does not do is learn from their mistakes. When you can take away a valuable lesson learned through a mistake, you can grow. Rather than give up when you have made a mistake or two, re-evaluate what you are doing, change it when change is necessary, and move forward.

When you find experts and leaders that can back up their claims of success and you see it unfold before your eyes, adopt the strategies of these people. They know what they are doing and are not hiding anything from you. Their success is based on hard work, learning from mistakes, and keeping up with technology. An apprentice always learns from their mentors.

Visualize success by starting small. Starting small will allow you to get your feet wet with Internet marketing without becoming overwhelmed by industry jargon and standards. You can learn a lot from a small mistake, just as you can learn from a huge mistake. Rather than assuming you can do it all, taking baby steps is highly recommended.

Getting started as an apprentice is the way to go with Internet marketing. Utilizing the ideas above will get you moving forward with confidence and those baby steps will turn into giant leaps. Watch how your lead conversion ratio becomes greater and you will soon be on your way to becoming an expert!
