Traffic Secret – Repurpose Your Content

Finding new traffic sources can be a challenge to us all! However, if we start to get a little creative, we can find new ways to get traffic. Really, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to get this. You just have to be willing to be a little creative! Listed below are some of my favorite ways to get a variety of traffic to my site.
1. Use video
There is no doubt that video marketing is HUGE. Youtube is the 3rd trafficked site in the world. However there are other video sites as well. Take the blog post you wrote, and turn it into a video. You can embed the video on your blog and get a two-fer. People can visit your blog (traffic), and then watch the video (a view for your video)! Since you’ve already written the post, you have the script for the video! Just remember to add your URL to the video in the description area or on the video itself! On the flipside, you can repurpose a video, by having it transcribed into an article or blogpost. So, I guess this is kind of a two-fer… hmmm?
2. Write an Ebook
Most people run in the other direction at the thought of writing an eBook. However, this really is not a painful experience. You can take a series of blog posts you’ve written on a subject and package them into an eBook. Take this series on traffic that I’m doing right now. After a series of blogposts, I’ll look back over them, see what might be missing and then repackage it into an ebook. Suddenly not so painful – huh? You can also Google Private Label Rights content on your subject matter, and use it as filler for your own book! Or… you can just brand the PLR eBook as your own and call it a day. The advantage of an eBook is your ability to sell stuff by linking applicable affiliate products within the eBook.
SHUT UP…!!!
Traffic AND sales! … NICE!
3. PowerPoint Slides ROCK!
What?
OK… Turn your blog post into a PowerPoint presentation! First off, don’t let the PowerPoint scare you. If you are not a PowerPoint Ranger, and trust me I’m not, you can still use this as method to generate traffic. You can simply outsource this task on Odesk for a few bucks to make your life easier!
4. Create a webinar
This goes along the lines of the eBook. When you write a series on a particular topic, you can host a webinar to share your information. You can use a free service like anymeeting.com. You simply transfer the information to Powerpoint Slides and host a live webinar. You can record the webinar for future use – perhaps as a bonus giveaway or product creation.
5. InfoGraphic
This repurposing option is not for the graphically challenged! However, if you’ve got some graphic skills, an infographic will serve you well. An infographic is a series of images that convey main points without a 500 word article! Here is an example:
For visual learners, like me, a picture is truly worth a thousand words! If you’re looking for a little extra cash, this is a marketable skill!
6. Have you taken a course or read a new book lately?
You can take the information you learned in those courses and turn those into a series of blog posts, articles, videos, etc. Repurposed content doesn’t always have to be yours! If you’ve got course notes collecting dust on your hard drive or sitting in the cloud somewhere, take them out, dust them off, and see what information is useful to your audience. You might find that you’ve got a lot to share and are just currently unaware.
The above 6 methods are just a few of the ways I use to repurpose content. Repurposing content in different formats allows you to draw traffic from different sources on the internet. Which one of these will you implement today?
