and Quotes for Mother Day.

One way we can ALL celebrate Mother Day
is to help Other mothers who need it.
For every view this Video gets, 6 cents is donated to a worthy cause (watch to the end)

And so I ask you,

What this Happy Mother Day means to Me

I recall back when I was moving away from my home town of San Antonio to move to Dallas, Texas.
It wasn’t the First time I had moved away; I had been in the Military and gone to Oklahoma, Missouri, and Germany for several years without even visiting my parents in San Antonio. When I got out of the military I got my own house with some buddies of mine near where my Parents lived.

But, when I was “officially’ moving to a completely different city for an unknown amount of time, My Mother cried as I understand Mother’s do when their children “leave the nest.”

My Mother was kind enough to give me a few gifts – Some food she had made, I think some clothes, Toilet paper (of course) and a book.Happy mother day,

It was a book called “Life’s Little Instruction Book” written as a few notes by a Father to his son as he was leaving for college. In the introduction the author, H. Jackson Brown, states :

“I read years ago that it was not the responsibility of parent to pave the road for their children. but to provide a road map. That’s how I hoped he would use these mind and heart reflections.”

Inside are little tips on what one father thinks it takes to live a “good” life. And, even though it was a Father to a son, I like to think my Mother gave it to me that day because she wanted me to learn what She thought life was all about.

So, what better way is there to Celebrate Mother Day than to
give Whoever Reads this
a small piece of the advice my mother wanted me to have.
Because I’m sure yours does, too.

Useful Things like:

130 – Leave the toilet seat in the down position
(That One I learned the Hard way…)
240 – Drink eight glasses of water a day
422 – Turn on your headlights when it begins to rain.
74 – Eat Prunes

and even Life-affirming Mind attitudes like :

226 – When somone hugs you, let Them be the first to let go.

383 – Understand that Happiness is not based on possessions, power, or prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect.

31 – Buy whatever kids are selling on card tables in their front yard.
– Don’t major in minor things.

324 – Don’t delay acting on a good idea. Chances are somone else has just thought of it, too. Success comes to the one who acts First.

To “get Over Yourself” suggestions :

322 – Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have Exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Theresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson and Albert Einstein.

68 – Be Brave. Even if your not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.

And a Happy Mother Day for One Special Person…

That little book has been both Educational and Enlightening in my Life’s path. And,
Though written by a Father to his son, I will always remember these as Quotes for Mother Day given me by My Mother.
I cherish that book as much as I do having a Mother who cares about me –
because a lot of people out there don’t.

I still have that little book.

And I am fortunate enough to have a Mother who,
with all my faults and issues,
Loves me for who I am.

I dedicate this blog and this Day to you – The Best Person I know  – My Mother.

and, Following one of “Life’s Little Instructions,”

347 – Never waste an opportunity to tell somone you Love them.

I Love You.
and Always will.

Happy Mother Day, Madre.
And Thank You for putting me on the path…
