Scam is an interesting word and people throw around and put all the blame on the business and none on the individual.
Multi-Level marketing scams headlines can been seen in many blogs and on YouTube where they quote 90% and up failure rates.
So are the numbers a factual representation of what is really going on?
Depends on who you ask.
I recently challenged someone on YouTube who was quoting that 99% of people who get into MLM’s fail and asked the simple question of those 99% how much blame is on the individual.
I asked a few times and the only answer I got was things like the following:
I would never place blame on the victims of a pyramid scheme like MLM. MLM is a scam.
In his eyes MLM is a scam so it doesn’t matter that the 99% could be made up of mostly people who quit or watched 130 hours of TV a week.
MLM is a scam so therefor all the people who didn’t do shit get a free pass.
Per the International Health Club Association,
50% of all new health club members quit within the first six months of signing up and 90% of those who join health and fitness clubs will stop going regularly within the first 90 days

So based on the above argument gyms are a scam?
Multi-Level Marketing Scams – Personal Testimony
15 years ago I quit Amway after being in it for 12 years.
I didn’t make a dime but let’s examine why.
My upline told me read daily, listen to audio’s daily, make a list of my friends and family, go meet strangers and build a downline.
I was married at the time and I would come home and tell my wife I spent 3 hours of contacting and just no one was around or wanted to talk. Told my upline the same thing.
Truth?
I was so afraid to say hi to someone because my self-image was horrible. I was told that by reading and actually trying to say hi and getting past that fear I would get over it. I said
I did all those things but the truth was I wasn’t.
I sponsored something like 15 people who all did nothing because I sponsored my self-image level and lower so of course
I made no money.
So whose fault was it I made no money?
Per the guy on YouTube and every other person posting that multi-level marketing scams are real, it was the company’s fault I didn’t make a dime.
Now how RETARDED is that?
Even still someone will be looking up those videos and articles and will believe the number that 99% failed so all of these multi-level marketing scams are true.
Multi-Level Marketing Scams – The Real Numbers
I do agree there are some bad MLM’s that the government should shut down for illegal practices but there are a lot of companies who are legit and offer something to those who actually listen and apply what they learn.
Let’s look at this for a minute….
- Why do more people quit the gym than stick it out?
- Why there are more college dropouts then graduates?
- Why are there more C and D students then A and B?
- Why do the armed forces have just a few who are special-ops compared to how many are in?
- Why doesn’t every kid who plays sports make it to the professional level?
- Why do some get raises where others do not?
- Why do we have far less rich then poor?
I think you get my point, you can ask that question for just about everything.
So let’s use the same line of thinking as all multi-level marketing scams are real.
- Colleges are scams (In My Opinion they really are scams)
- Gyms are a scam
- Work is a scam
- Professional sports is a scam
- Military is a scam
- Grades are a scam
- Rich is a scam
- Poor is a scam
In other words let’s put all the blame on everyone else but the individual.

Here are the percentages I would love to see when people talk about multi-level marketing scams.
What percentage of the 99 did EXACTLY what their upline told them to do, day in day out, daily, 7 days a week for entire year and never made a dime?
Show me that number and we can talk about multi-level marketing scams.
