How Important Are Backlinks?

Do You Think It Is Important To Get  Backlinks?

Now that you have your article written it is now time to build some backlinks.  It isn’t always necessary to build these backlinks to get to the first page of Google but it is adviseable to build some to every article you do.  Especially if you have identified your article as being for a more competitive keyword, then you might have to build a lot more.

One thing to point out is a word of warning, and that is do not build all the links with the same anchor text as Google likes to see a variety.  Therefore 60% of your links should be for that exact phrase.  For the others just mix it up a bit.  Use a variation of your phrase but adding words to it and using the ‘click here’ or ‘this article’.  You need to use all the things that people would naturally use to link to a page.

There are many different ways of building backlinks but I think two of the best way is by using social bookmarking and paid services.  Social bookmarking is where readers ‘bookmark’ sites that they like and that give the page a link and then from the account of the person doing the bookmarking.  If you want to use a paid service you can e.g. socialmarker.com to help with the process of going in and bookmarking your articles.  Another great way is to sign up to ‘Onlywire.com’ which will let you bookmark automatically to multiple sites.

Another way is to outsource your article which will probably cost you around £3 for about 30 bookmarks and this can be done through sites like ‘WLMarketing.com’.

One thing you have to make sure and do is to bookmark other things you like online as well as an account that just bookmarks articles leading to your site could be considered as spam.  You would be able to open a new account but you would lose all the links in your old account.

Onlywire has to be the best option to go for as it is so easy to setup and then you can do a submission in just a few clicks.  Socialmarker.com could possibly take you up to an hour or longer to go through each submission.

Another three sites that are very good are ‘linkvana.com’, ‘myarticlenetwork.com’ and 1waylinks.net, although they do charge a monthly fee but they allow you access to a huge range of sites which you can get links from.  I was advised that Linkvana is probably the best if you have more than one site that you need to use SEO on, but the other two offer better value if you are trying to get links just to your articles.

The way that those two work is that you would need to write a short article or blog post and you ‘spin’ it so that each submission is unique.  You must make sure that your link is in there somewhere.  You can also spin the anchor text on that as well, so that it rotates every time it is used.  You can then submit it and their system will distribute copies of your article out to their network of sites.

Each time that they send the post out to a site they will use variations of words or sentences which you have provided in the spinning phase, that is so that each post is not identical and then hopefully Google will count each link you get.

You don’t have to submit one post to these systems for every article you create because if you are smart about it, then when you submit it you spin not only the anchor text but the link that is submitted, so it will randomly pick a link each time it posts your content and that way you have links being built to multiple articles at the same time.

After one or two weeks you need to check and see where your article is ranking in Google and a good free service to you to find out where your article is placed is

If you have managed to get to the first two or three pages then you need to build some more links, but it is further back than that then you need to consider how much traffic it is supposed to have and think if it would be worth that little bit extra effort.  Plus if any article is on the front page but still not at the number one position then you need to build some more links until it reaches the number one position.

If you find you are not making any progress with any articles then you should forget about them and concentrate on the ones that are doing well and just write more articles !!
