I’ve Got A Cold
It’s true! I’ve got a cold. I’m not that happy about it either! It started with a tickle in the back of my nose on Monday and has progressed. Tuesday I sneezed a lot and had trouble breathing through my nose. Wednesday I knew for sure that I’ve got a cold. My body aches, mainly back and legs. I had trouble at work, I kept nodding off. I know

people saw me doing it but I couldn’t help it. So I checked with HR to see how many sick days I have left this year. I typically take sick days when my husband has something going on and push through it when I’m not well. I found out I have 2 left. Well I did anyway, I used one today. I slept all day. Totally abnormal for me but I couldn’t keep my eyes open for anything. Totally a drawback when I’ve got a cold.
I’ve Got A Cold and It’s Winning
I used to get between 4 to 6 colds a year. I have crohn’s disease (in remission for quite a while now) and was on an immune suppressant medication. It seemed I always was either getting a cold or getting over a cold. I had to push through them all since I needed to keep my sick days for the disease when I couldn’t move or was up all night in pain.
I don’t get colds very often anymore but when I do I know I’ve got a cold. They knock me out more than they used to. I must be getting old or something! It probably really has to do with my immune system working so well. It didn’t used to because of the meds. Now my body is doing battle with the virus and its wearing me out.
I’ve been fighting back though, DayQuil, NightQuil, Zinc, Nasal Sprays, soup, chicken, fluids, etc. It doesn’t seem to be helping much. Today I have a fever. Not to high but high enough to know I’m not heading in the right direction yet.
I sure wish they would come up with a cure for the common cold! Life would be so much better. Is anyone even working on a cure? I wonder. It would save a lot of sick days from work if there was a cure.
I’ve Got A Cold – Speaking of Work
I have two jobs, well actually one and the other is my own business. The second one is the smarter one and I’ll tell you why in a minute. I am an IT Manager for a manufacturing company. The building temperature has been very cold. It’s always like that during the season changes. From Spring into Summer some of the days are very hot. It all has to do with when they change the systems . . turn off the A/C and turn off the heat. It’s pretty typical of all office buildings. They can’t do one one day and change it the next. So I missed my day job today and thankfully I will get paid for it. When I get back, I’ll have extra work to do because I didn’t get it done today.
My business, on the other hand, kept running without me. It’s one of the reasons that I love Empower Network! While I’ve got a cold and didn’t do anything, my business kept going. It’s a wonderful thing! It works while I’m sleeping, playing, or if I’ve got a cold. It doesn’t care much since everything is pretty much on autopilot.
Yesterday, during my I’ve got a cold period, I drew in 58 new leads and my autoresponder emailed them for me. Today, I drew in another 28 leads and the day isn’t even over yet. Dave and Dave went to work and did the selling and signed me up a new affiliate. I expect to get a few more while I’ve got a cold.
