In order to rank in youtube search engine high you need to study your watch time and work on it and improve it with time. Youtubes algorithm is measuring your watch time and according to your watch time is ranking your videos. Youtube is not only measuring the watch time of your videos but also the total watch time of your channel. You will find the analytics of your videos under Analytics button.
So what can you do in order to improve your watch time when you youtube broadcast yourself?
You have to find out what videos are the most engaging and when you find them you have to find out why is it so. As soon as you will find out why your videos are engaging you will try to use the same formula for your other new videos. It is simple.
Now what can you do to make the videos more engaging?
You need to hook your audience the first couple of seconds to keep them watching your video. How? You can reveal your best tip first or you can make the big promise or you will talk about the benefits when watching your video.
If you also use graphics or some kind of branding at the beginning of your video keep it very short, under 4 seconds or so.You can also use branding later in order to make sure you hook your audience first. Your call to action should be at the end of the video, not the beginning as you may loose your audience there too.
The increase in watch time may also be reached by having keyword rich video titles and that also offer benefits and rewards.
You can also find out where are you loosing the viewer and just add an annotation to the video at the point. The annotation may link to to other more popular video.
You can also insert a popular video in another video in “InVideo Programming“ under Channel Settings.
As mentioned already before, you can use the description of your video to provide links to subscribe to your channel or other videos.
Do not forget that the viewers likes, shares and comments also increases viewer engagement.
