I love smiling inwardly, it is such a feeling of fleeting peacefulness within my soul that cannot be forced, it can only be.

in·ward  (nwrd)adj.

1. Located inside; inner.
2. Directed or moving toward the interior: an inward flow.
3. Of, relating to, or existing in the thoughts or mind: inward doubts.

4. Intimate; familiar

smile

to assume a facial expression indicating pleasure, favor, or amusement, but sometimes derision or scorn, characterized by an upturning of the corners of the mouth.
to express by a smile: to smile approval.

How can I describe my inward smile? It is obviously an inner feeling, it is a warmth that starts in my chest area and just spreads throughout. And no, it is not because of the chorizo tacos I had for dinner the other night. It is a feeling that everything is OK, even if it is for that slight moment in time. It is a feeling of satisfaction, not necessarily from something that I did or said, but just of something that is.

It comes on its own, it cannot be forced or even attempted to achieve. I just Google’d “Inward Smile” and was given a list of directions of how I can achieve it by meditating or by using an ancient oriental method, but that is not what it is. Even went on Wikipedia and there is nothing, but they suggested that I submit it so that it can be added. But if I can’t even explain it to myself…..

It has happened at home when my kids have made a choice in their lives that, right or wrong, was their own choice. It has happened at work when everything seemed to be going right for that day. It has even happened whenI am alone and just comes over me telling me that everything is going to be OK. For some reason I get it when I watch dolphins, which I really cannot explain.

It is a feeling that I get when we have helped someone to get on the right path, to know that there might have been something that we did or said that opened their eyes a little and helped them to start taking action toward their goals, whatever they may be.

Personally, I think it is God telling me that things are going to be OK, that there is Hope as long as I have Faith. That He is still there even when it feels like no one is.

I look forward to my next inward smile, and I hope that anyone reading this can feel this feeling and appreciate it and maybe help to explain it to me a little more.

Enjoy your day

See Ya!
