The Greatest Love Of All

It’s Valentine’s Day and for some of us it’s a day full of joy and happiness and lots of love. To some it’s a day to be reminded that we feel alone and unloved. I am sharing these Bible verses and Valentine’s poems for those of you who can relate to the latter. I want you to know that you are not alone and you are loved more than you can even imagine.
“Jesus said to him,” ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’…
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”
~Matthew 27:37, 39“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
~1 Corinthians 13:13
“Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, Than a fatted calf with hatred.”
~Solomon in Proverbs 15:17
“For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?”
~Matthew 5:46
God’s Valentine Gift
By Joanna Fuchs
God’s Valentine gift of love to us
Was not a bunch of flowers;
It wasn’t candy, or a book
To while away the hours.
His gift was to become a man,
So He could freely give
His sacrificial love for us,
So you and I could live.
He gave us sweet salvation, and
Instruction, good and true–
To love our friends and enemies
And love our Savior, too.
So as we give our Valentines,
Let’s thank our Lord and King;
The reason we have love to give
Is that He gave everything.
Twice As SweetBy Joanna Fuchs
On Valentines Day, we show our love;
We express our deep affections.
Those who are important to us
Get cards and sweet confections.
But Christian love is not just for
The ones we hold most dear;
Jesus said “love everyone;”
He made that very clear.
For Christians, it is every day
We should care and love and serve
Everyone we meet in life,
Whether they do or don’t deserve.
Let’s follow Jesus’ good command
To love everyone we meet.
Valentine’s Day every day
Will make life twice as sweet.
