The 4 general Boxing Styles

Generally there are 4 generally acknowledged boxing styles which are actually used to specify fighters. These are the in-fighter, the out-fighter, the counter puncher the brawler.

Inside-fighter

This style favors closing inside an opponent, overwhelming them with intensity and flurries of hooks and uppercuts. They commonly tend to be quick on their feet which might make them challenging to evade for a slow fighter.

Outside-fighter

Out-fighters (also known as an “out-boxer” or “boxer”) are the opposite of the in-fighter. Out-fighters are often regarded as the ultimate boxers on account of their desire to win a battle by wearing an opponent down and rising above a challenger by plan of action, rather than just knocking him out.

Counter Puncher

A boxer who makes a choice to apply tactics that demand the attacking boxer to make a mistake, and at that time exploiting on that mistake. A well known counter puncher is Floyd Mayweather.

Brawler

If the out-fighter represents shows classy about boxing, the brawler (also known as the ‘slugger’, ‘hard hitter’ or ‘one puncher’) often stands for everything that’s brutal in the sport. Sluggers tend to lack finesse in the ring, but make up for it in raw power, often able to knock almost any opponent out with a single punch. Their slowness and predictable punching patterns (single punches with obvious leads) often leaves them open for counterpunching.

What is Boxing anyway?

Boxing is a martial art and combat sport in which two people immerse in a contest of strength, reflexes, plus endurance by throwing blows on an opponent having gloved hands.

Amateur boxing is an Olympic and Commonwealth sport and also is an usual fixture in many of the main world-wide games – this also has its very own World Championships. Boxing is monitored by a referee over a series of one – to three-minute intervals referred to as rounds. The outcome is decided whenever a competitor is deemed incapable to carry on by a referee, is disqualified for breaking a rule, surrenders by throwing in a towel, or else is pronounced the victor or loser based on the judges’ scorecards at the end of the contest.

The birth hour of boxing as a sport may be its recognition by the early Greeks as an Olympic game as early as 688 BC. Boxing evolved from 16th – and 18th-century prizefights, essentially in Great Britain, to the forerunner of modern boxing in the mid-19th century, once again primarily in Great Britain and down the road in the United States. In 2004, ESPN ranked boxing as the most challenging sport in the world.
