Where To Find Content For Your Blog {the easy way}

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Finding content for your blog can be frustrating. Trying to come up with unique and relevant topics for your audience day after day can be time consuming and lead to procrastination in your blogging.

I must admit, I write quite a bit and sometimes even I have trouble finding content for my blog from time to time, and while most of us dream about writing some awesome blog post that goes viral and brings in a TON of readers in no time, I’ll admit that it’s getting more difficult to find content. But it’s out there.

Here are ways to find content for your blog

I. Share What You Already Know

One of the most powerful ways on how to find content for your blog is to know your audience and see what interests, problems or questions they have and address accordingly.

Example #1: If you are in Network Marketing/MLM, your readers might have questions on:

  • Recruiting people
  • Getting people started correctly
  • Duplication within their organization

If you have particular skills in these ares, then you automatically have content for your blog for at least 2 or 3 posts or a couple of videos that you shoot to put on your blog to “humanize” your post.

Example #2: If you are an Internet marketer and generate leads online, maybe you could blog on some of the more “technical” aspects of internet marketing such as “how to set up your Aweber autoresponder” or “how to build a sales funnel” – Again, try to think of what solution you can offer to their problem.

Here are a few other ideas for content for your blog:

Write a review of a product or service
Write about a company in your industry
Write about an online tool you use
Write about a leader you admire in your company
Write about the 10 best leaders in your company

By remaining on top of the questions and concerns that others have asked in a certain niche, you’ll generate ideas which will help you consistently publish relevant content for your blog.

You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want. ~Zig Ziglar

II. Who is Searching For What

In today’s fast-paced world, it seems we are increasingly more interested in Hot Topics from the world of fashion, celebrities, sports, music, etc.

If your niche is in any of the mentioned above, here are a few places to garner some content for your blog:

  • Google Trends (see what is being searched and how many searches per topic)
  • Now.msn.com (similar to Google Trends only updated more often with arrows)
  • Twitter (current topics…search for your keyword, pay attention to “Top Tweets”)
  • Message Boards (really helpful if your blog is in a particular niche)
  • Magazine Covers (a great way to get headlines, ideas & topics to write about)

III. Follow Other Bloggers

Another method you can use to find content for your blog is to follow other bloggers. Reading other blogs that are related to your niche is a terrific way to generate ideas for your own blog.

If you think you have something valuable to add to their thoughts or if you have information that they have not yet touched on, then simply rewrite it from another angle or viewpoint.

Many of my own content ideas come from reading other bloggers’ content. If I don’t agree with their take on something, I’ll blog about it with my own take or spin.

The blogosphere loves controversy and a good argument. How can you stir things up and encourage your readers to interact visit your blog again?

Creating content for your blog is one of the biggest challenges that many internet marketing & niche bloggers are faced with. I’ve also seen seen of bloggers quit after the first 2 to 5 months of blogging mainly because of content creation, but what you must understand that where there is a need there is always a market for it.

While you are giving value, providing information & solutions to your niche, you shouldn’t have any problems with creating content for your blog.
