The Man that Bites

I would like to share a little story with you about The Man that Bites. We will call him Tom. Now Tom is a very smart man. He is a reader, a teacher, a friend. Tom is very much an over achiever and he is indeed very competitive. I’ve seen Tom excel in most things he set his mind to do. I’ve seen the confidence, the smile, the humor.

The Man that Bites will crack you up…….

Oh the humor…….Tom is very, very funny. He makes many people laugh and at the end-of-the-day all you can  say is, “I like Tom”. Many people trust Tom, after all, he is successful! He knows just what to say to get the crowd going, “a big teddy bear” some might say. “Hey, I like Tom” is a too familiar phrase. Nothing could possibly go wrong here….Tom is just the PERFECT model to follow…….so it SEEMS.

The Man that Bites likes to write…….

One day while doing a little work, a friend of Tom discovered something. It was a note. The note had the words WARNING FROM TOM. The friend noticed that there was an invitation for him to read the WARNING FROM TOM so he did. The note went a little something like this:

“Don’t you ever try to take something from me. I will hunt you down, have the law enforcement knocking at your door. I won’t let up on you.  You better ask somebody because I take people down to the lowest place. Find your own way. Get your own stuff. Learn how to use your own brain because karma is a B—-. (end of quote)

That day, the friend of Tom, discovered something very valuable about Tom and that lesson was TOM BITES.

You see, Tom’s friend didn’t see that coming. What’s wrong? Tom was funny, he was smart, he was the big teddy bear! What is wrong with Tom?

Tom had a nice personality but his character was stink-in’ When Tom bites, he bites hard.

 When we meet people for the first time, the first person we meet is their personality. Remember how funny & smart Tom was? Under all the nice and loving things we learned about Tom, we have come to find that Tom is the MAN THAT BITES. Tom didn’t quite have the character to support his personality.

The Man that Bites has a negative character…..

Character is the combination of morals and beliefs that dictates how we treat others, our environment and ourselves. It is the basis on which our every thought, action, and decision is derived and the means by which we distinguish between right and wrong.

Oh yes, it takes time to get to know who people really are and at first sight or even a few meetings, you can’t tell who’s really honest or humble. Just when you let your guard down, that dog will catch you at the end of the street and if you don’t see him coming he WILL BITE YOU.

Be slow to become friends with anyone and give yourself time to evaluate the situation. Although someone may appear to be compassionate, merciful, generous and kind, give it a little time because just like TOM, you too, may discover THE MAN THAT BITES.
