Gmail Changes Could Hurt Your Business

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

ENV2 is in per-launch so I hope your gmail is all set and ready to get my emails…

With the new tab features your emails could be getting assigned to the a tab (social or promotion) that you never pay attention to and there fore you could be missing important updates because Gmail is changing their inbox settings.
(If you haven’t seen this yet, you will shortly.)

With Google’s recent changes we’re all having a problems, but today I want to inform you about it and show you what to do about it because these changes serves no benefit absolutely no one…

So a partner of my came up with some simple suggestions to help the team members who were missing our emails, so.

Here’s a couple of suggestions to fix this:
Option #1

First off I’m a control freak and love to be in control of the emails that shows up in my inbox (as opposed to trusting some shifty algorithm), but you can disable the new categories by doing this:

Click the little X in the top right hand corner of your inbox – next to the tabs. See the screenshot right here:

Then, when that pops up, uncheck the “Social and
Promotions” box, and click save. Then you’ll revert to the classic view.

Option #2

If you want to keep these silly little tabs because you think they’ll be valuable, but you’re worried about missing out on valuable emails that impact your business (like this one), do this:

Step 1: Go to the Promotions Tab (like this)

Step 2: Find an Email from me in your inbox. You can do control find (Crtl+F), to make scanning your inbox faster and easier.

Step 3: Drag that email into your Primary Inbox.

When you find an email from Chris  just drag and drop the email on your “Primary” inbox tab.

Then, you’ll get an alert saying, “This conversation has been moved to “Primary.” Do this for future messages?”

…and click “YES!”

…and you should be all set.
Hope this helps you take back control of your gmail
