Imagine your digital camera with android, it makes sense that digital cameras would soon be getting operating systems.

With smart phones and wireless internet people can literally share their photos the second they have taken them. It almost seems strange that digital cameras are not up to speed with smart phones. Manufactures of digital cameras have tried various options to connect wireless, but they just have not been easy to use or as convenient as the apps we have on our mobile devises so they really have not taken off in popularity.

In the past digital cameras have used propitiatory firmware that is made specifically for the manufacture of the device. In the past there has been attempts to standardize the operating systems of digital cameras, but to no success.

With the nature of open operating systems like android, the system can be altered and modified to specific uses. Then with some additional hardware built into the device you digital camera will be come a mobile media center. You will be able to take photos or videos then using a internet connection or cellular connection upload the photos to the internet. You would also be able to make the device more engaging by adding additional functions like apps, games, tutorials and even connect to social networks with the touch of a button.

There are also some drawbacks to a digital camera with android.

When you start adding more hardware, apps and software tow significant things happen. First your battery time dramatically reduces. Running an actual operating system will use resources in the digital camera and those resources ultimately will cost power and battery life.

The second thing that happens is that the price of the device goes up. This is just a simple fact of the matter the more that goes into the device the more it will cost. Additional memory, hard ware and making the camera function all cost money to add. There is a chance that the popularity of having a digital camera with android would increase demand and over time reduce the price as competition gets in and new technology specific to the industry are developed.

Taking pictures and photography is a great way to have fun and collect memories. Now more than ever people have instant access to cameras and the world is being recorded through literally billions of lens across the globe.
