Handling the ball: The first step in playing basketball is handling the ball. For that, hold two balls in your hand. Start this practice at one end of the court. Start dribbling the ball from one end of the court to the other end. This dribbling needs a lot of effort and concentration. You need to learn the dribbling techniques very well. Dribbling isn’t just taking the ball from one end of the ground to another. Playing the real game is a lot different from practicing on the ground. While practicing, there will be no one to interrupt you, but in a real game, there will be opponent players to stop you. You have to keep this in mind while learning dribbling techniques.
Correct usage of hands and palms: Using your hands and palms in the correct way is the next thing that you have to know while dribbling. For dribbling, you have to use your fingertips and palm in proper way. Otherwise you will not be able to hold the ball in proper way. So train your fingers to hold the ball properly. Communication skills are very important here, but communication skills don’t mean that you are talking verbally with them. Non verbal communication and body language plays a very important role in it.
Maintaining body balance: You have to maintain your body balance while playing. This is very important, because while walking and running on the field with the ball in your hands, you may lose your balance. Always ensure that you place your feet properly on the ground.
