You say 75% of your message with the body
Have you ever misinterpreted body language?
Asking someone out while he/she was not interested at all? Did you feel REALLY stupid and wish you knew how to avoid this situation?
Well, if your answers are yes ever time (like me!), I wrote this article so that YOU know how to increase your odds of not making a mistake. That way, you can avoid this sensation of failure you must have experienced last time… and find your half!
Here is my most shameful story about misunderstanding body language.
While I was 23, I went on a holiday’s camp where I had to take care of disabled people for 2 weeks. It’s an amazing experience that you should try btw!
When I arrived on my first day at 10pm, the organizers had prepared a sort of hazing. As I opened the door, they threw wet toilet paper at me. I got one in the face!
When I finally entered the room, one guy in particular was making fun of me in a way I felt uncomfortable, as if I were stupid. I don’t like this guy, I thought!
The day after, I stayed away from him but we had to stay awake all night to be sure everything was okay with the disabled people (they might need to go to the toilets in the middle of the night, having a nightmare,…). So, we spoke all night, and I found this guy very nice in the end of the night.
He was telling his stories, making jokes. His eyes were gleaming when he was looking at me and he was moving his body forward.
We had a lot of fun and he was often coming next to me to laugh or looking at me when doing funny thinks. He told me he had no girlfriend. I started to thin: this guy might be interested in me.
So I became closer to him every day. On the last day, I was quite sure of myself: I sent him a SMS explaining my feelings and saying I was quite sure his were the same.
You know how the story ends… He told me he was sorry not to have been clear enough and apologized!
Of course he was so proud that he spoke about it with everyone around. You know the feeling…
Do we need words when we have a body?
Did you know that 75% of the language is body language! I had to learn more and what I found below will increase both your confidence when asking someone out, and your success.
Here are the 5 main signs of a successful date:
1: Lifted shoulders
Easiest to detect! This is an unconscious sign when you are in the presence of someone you like. In a date, this means that the person you’re interested in wants to get a little closer.
2: Pigeon toes
“An inward rotation of the feet suggests definite interest of a romantic nature”. This means you have to look at the feet of the person in front of you! See the pictures to understand…
Body language: upwards palms
3: The palm reveal
Palms facing upward is a sign of openness. If you are already holding these hands, not sure you need my advice!
4: The forehead bow
Forehead bow is when the head tips slightly forward and your date looks up at you from under his or her eyebrows.
Very positive! Your date has more than friendship to offer.
5: Mirroring your date’s movements
If you are synchronizing your movements, it means you are on the same wavelength. Therefore, your date is interested in what you have to offer…
The credit comes back to David Givens, “an anthropologist who specializes in nonverbal communication.”
This body language applies everywhere with everyone!
Using these tips, you will be able to experience success everywhere. This is communication. Everything is about communication (sell yourself for a job, convince someone to go out or do something, make people follow your visions, leading a team,…). Everything!
DO NOT miss this opportunity to be successful.
You deserve it.

PS: use body language with your boss to see whether you’re one the same wavelength!
