About Me

Who is Jimm Sherry

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

My Brother and I was born in the the Philippines I’m the eldest of 3 , and 1 Sister born in the US,  My Mother was a singer in a entertainment lounge and my Father stationed in the Navy working as an Accountant that’s how they met.

I grew up in suburban Philadelphia most of my life from the age of 2. I could of been born here in the US or… not me in the Philippines and never existed writing this I’m laughing because I think silly things and my humor is dry though if I was talking to you in person with the About Me post, you’d be here looking at me strange

My Mother told me stories of me passing out Ritz Crackers to the kids in the neighborhood feeding everyone. All loved touching my blond hair which was from my Grand-moms side, because ofcourse everyone’s hair is dark…They called my hair “mais buhok” (corn hair) everyone suggested my Mother to have me enter in a baby contest because I was so different. I don’t have the picture yet but soon will post it when available.

I went back to PI (Philippines) for the first time in 1998 meeting everyone who watched over me when I was young. I really didn’t know what to say but thank those for taking care of me, and as I seen different places I was cared for, there were really really poor places! These were times when my Mother was in the hospital of my unborn brother either relatives or friends generally watched over me.

My Uncle showed me to a poor area where one woman took care of me, I mean I actually saw Mothers in front of their small homes caring other babies in their arms in front of a muddy wet dirt road as they sit at their door step. This is an awkward moment…older now looking at this woman who cared for me in such an environment of poverty as I stood there before her having a clear image of a moment in time that never past. Everything here never changes and I should mention, time is slow here.

I wished I could do more for her and all I could do at the time is thank her….If I were rich I’d buy her a house and lot just for her time caring for me.

I moved to San Francisco to learn more of my Filipino side and relatives I’ve never met, also the opportunity of living in a city with great weather and new ground.

How exciting it is to give up everything and just move! Things were always the same and I needed to change the scene completely, and of-course you miss those you’ve known for so long to let go, but half my soul was empty.

From East to West my Friends were surprised, Some asked, Your in California!? Wow! What made you move there!? I said…“Change”

I remember thinking of the name California associated with sunny climates, city commute, pretty models and blue glowing cosmo drinks in a bar lounge. I didn’t expect to see Celebrities anywhere either, cool right? Eh so what.  Hey if ones a good friend then that’s cool!

A place is how you make it to be or attitude let’s say. I found by living in a city where so much is mixed your horizon broadens no question about that. The City is an amazing mixing pot which has so much variety and culture it’s an adventure to me.

Things I like to talk about could be about aliens, wormholes to psychological thinking, excavations of subject matter to dig up…yes pun intended, or what is beautiful on or out of this world.

I like creative thinking out of the box discussions, or off the wall quirks and ideas.
Around conversation I can’t help but observe behavior or reactions, I like the nature of body language or just how things works and why.

I can say that by learning from others I can improve myself to be the best I can or help someone if I could. Being around positive people is the best thing to do so you can give what you have learned positive….Then your belief is who you are

Be Positive,

P.S. Leave me your thoughts, comments and questions in the section below. Also some “Likes” would be great. Thanks!
