Hello. I was able to share two hours with my parents today.

Not a big deal you might say, but I live in France and my parents who are 89 live in the UK.

Thanks to Google and Teamviewer, I was able to set up and have a hangout with them to chat and enjoy eachothers company. We also had our oldest son on and a close friend of the family that we only see a couple of times a year.

This is so great, but we really take it all for granted, it struck me today how truly thankful and appreciative we should be.

That’s what I want to share in this blog post today.

I appreciate the work that Google team have created.I want to do a shoutout too for Teamviewer that I use to debug my Dad’s PC at a distance so we can connect when it get’s a bit tricky. At 89 years old the web can seem a crazy place I imagine!

Thanks to hangouts available on my newly acquired Nexus 4, I could show them all around our house and the children we foster and our two new kittens. It was so cool to be able to be totally free to move and chat and share pics taken in real time and have my Dad print it out to give to my Mum to hold and see. She has a hard time with the screen.

I wanted to share my appreciation for the team at Google who have made hangouts possible. Honestly, it’s the greatest thing for this planet that we could wish for. 

 I certainly appreciate it on a family level and also on a professional level. We can connect with like minded people and share and help build a relationships even though separated by great distances, and country borders.

The fact that the internet exists and tha we can use it and all of the possibilites to expand our knowledge and circle of friends all for a small service fee, it really is amazing.

Even my cat gets to be famous!

I love using the internet to promote my music (I’m a composer amongst other things!) and to build my online business too.

We have such a fantastically powerful tool at our disposal but hardly scratch the surface of what can be accoplished with it.

I certainly intend to use the internet to be the greatest tool to bring about a better planet for us all!
