Acts of giving and receiving
It has been often said that it is better to give than to receive. Our abilities of giving and receiving are at our core. With them, we create and experience true prosperity.
We all are born with certain gifts. These gifts are our talents, our interests, our attributes, as well as our characteristics. Especially our ability to love and care for one another.
We do the best that we can to live truthfully and to express ourselves authentically, genuinely sharing as much of ourselves as we can, and we naturally give our gifts to others and to the world.
We share a part of ourselves with others when we give. Giving should always come from our hearts. If we give reluctantly, then we are setting ourselves us for ill will.
Some people consider giving as a form of karma. Always give and never expect anything in return. Do it because it feels good and right. This creates great vibrations and good karma.
In return, we may be receiving acknowledgements, appreciation, validation, love, money, and many other rewards.
Receiving these gifts replenishes the energy we have spent which allows us to continue giving. It is also a lesson in gratitude.
So giving and receiving are energies that are linked in the flow of life, just like breathing, they must be kept in balance with each other.
John Gray, Author of Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus, said “We must realize that we cannot give love unless we can receive love…I order to give of ourselves, we must nurture ourselves”.
Now giving and receiving may sound simple, but it is not always easy to practice. Do the best you can. Walk your own path. Keep giving and receiving in perspective. Your life will love you for it!
