Just to give a personal perspective about the max payne 3 video review by the elder geek squad, they always seem to hit every key point with the proper amount of good and bad for each review they do.
In reviewing Max Payne 3, I could tell they took in to high consideration of of the quality of the game coming from different gaming demographics based off of the systems they used.
Obviously the game is massively better on the PC utilizing the DX11 graphics engine. Since they couldn’t run it on their PC’s during the review, the footage you’ll see is based of console game play which isn’t bad at all to be honest.
I think what I like most about these guys are the fact that I can truly relate to how they feel about the games they review and I hope that you check more out from them since they dont seem to be getting the proper traffic they deserve. I might contact them and see if I can help them with their SEO lol.
I Love Max Payne 3
Back in the early 2000′s when part 1 and 2 dropped, I was blown far away by the Max Payne series. They gritty stories and gameplay we’re so intense that I spent hour on top of hours playing those games.
Its the same feeling with Max Payne 3 , rockstar developed another masterpeice of a game. It Continues to give you that consistent “solid shoot em up” gameplay that was so addictive back in the early 2000′s.
I kind of felt like the elder geek team enjoyed it but had some disapointments about the new installment. They didnt like the load times, which for me wasnt a problem being that I play it on monster fast PC lol. But they hit all the main key points spot on in their review as far as the story, the gameplay, and the visual design.
Running it on the PC in its early launch stage can be problematic thought. Sometimes the game wont launch at all no matter what you try to do. But when it runs, it sprints and presents some insane visual detail and super solid snappy PC gameplay.
I agree with elder geek when they point out the games lack of regenerating health, which in my opinion makes max payne 3 much more intense and classic. Its good to see that rockstar wanted to keep things a little hardcore. It always takes me out of a game when my character gets shot up then just hides behind a wall to regenerate. Its very convienient but it definetly takes me out of the immersion.
The gunplay is well above average in this installment, I mean its so to the point to where it feels so natural to “slow mo” dive and accutately pop off heads. I am a gameplay freak so when controls are properly optimized, I’m sold right away.
