Realizing My Positive Mindset

positive mindset

I remember back when I first started reading positivity books.  I would read and try to implement positive thing I could.

I would say the affirmations.  I would do things to make me feel better.  I would say and write my “Happy and Gratefuls”.  I would look at my dreamboards and visualize.

Then My Wife’s SUV Broke Down

One day, my wife and I went on boat with my brothers, my brother’s wife, mom, dad, and a friend.  We were having a great time.

When we got back to the house, I had to make a phone call.  During my call, one of my brother’s noticed that antifreeze was pouring out of my wife’s SUV.

When I got off the phone, he told me it looks like it was coming from the water pump.  I said okay.  Filled it up with water and drove it home.

The next day, I called the mechanic.  He told me how much and when he would be finished.  We got it out to the mechanic and had it fixed.

Do You Want To Know What This Has To Do With Positivity?

I never once got upset or mad.  At this time, we were living paycheck to paycheck.  I knew in my heart that everything would work out, though.  I didn’t stress about the money or anything.

Here’s the kicker.  The mechanic called me and said he broke a bolt off, and it would be more money if he couldn’t get it removed without doing a lot more labor.

At this time, I felt myself getting a little agitated, but I told myself, “No, everything will work out for the best.  There is no need getting upset or mad.  If it costs more money then so be it.”

Any other time, I would have argued with the mechanic.  I would have said why do I have to pay for your mistake.  This time I really didn’t have the desire to fuss or anything.

Here is another kicker.  I had to get up real early the next morning just to take my wife to work.  At this time, I was working 2 jobs.  I was finally getting a day off, but for some reason it didn’t bother me.

The mechanic did not charge us anymore than what he quoted.  He did a great job.

If I Had A Different Mindset

If I had a different mindset, I think the situation would have turned out different, too.  Staying positive and patient is the energy you receive back.

You Can Become a Positive Person, Too

Keep reading your books, saying your affirmations, visualize, and writing you are happy and grateful everyday, and you will change.  You will become a more positive person.  And more and more great things will continue to happen to you.
