Losing Weight Is Easy

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

This morning as I was checking in on facebook I saw this image posted by a friend who has had wonderful success losing weight… but continues to struggle with it every day.

My reply to this was…

What if you decided that losing weight was easy?

Because it is, or it certainly can be.

When I quit nursing my daughter ~ a little after her second birthday I gained so much weight. I was almost back to the weight I was on the day she was born. It was awful. I felt awful.

I tried a million different diets to lose weight. I tried to force myself to exercise (which rarely actually worked lol). I felt bad about myself. I said horrible things to myself in the mirror every day ~ as if berating myself was going to make the weight fall off.

Then I saw a movie. Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. I thought to myself… there’s the answer. So I bought a juicer and started juicing my food. I did a 5 day juice fast ~ my husband was amazed!

I lost a few pounds… but I felt GOOD. About myself, and what I was doing, and how I was doing it. More pounds came off. Until I started to not feel good about it. Until the negatives started coming in… and then I didn’t lose anymore.

Then I found The Challenge. 90 days to a new you. LOVED it!!

Started the challenge, replaced 2 meals a day with an incredibly healthy shake. Set a goal, and went to town. Felt so good! Started getting results.

I lost over 30 pounds in my first 90 days.

Until I hit 150 pounds.

Then I stopped losing.

Was it the challenge? Heck no. The challenge is awesome.

What stopped my weight loss is the fact I thought it was going to be hard to go from 150 to 130 (which is where I wanted to be).

It is all about what you believe… and even more importantly ~ how you FEEL.

It really is ALL about how you feel. This is law of attraction weight loss! Simple and fun and it just feels good!  When I look back on my weight loss during the challenge I felt good. I loved my shakes. I was happy when I drank them. I looked at my body and started to love what I saw. I remember posting to facebook about the first time I stepped out of the shower and saw my body and smiled.

THAT’S how you lose weight easy!

If it takes something outside yourself to believe in, to help you feel good ~ then do it! It’s all about feeling good. This is a fairly new realization for me… although I feel like I should have known it all along lol. I’m still sitting at 150. Yes, I’ve maintained my weight loss with no problems for more than 6 months now. I haven’t struggled to maintain. I still look in the mirror and feel good about what I see… it’s just moving forward that hasn’t happened. Because I believe it’s going to be hard.

What’s so awesome about this realization is this: it’s totally in my control. There’s nothing outside of me that’s stopping me from being 130 pounds. I just have to find a way to start believing that getting to 130 is as easy as getting to 150! THAT I can do! (and so can you!)

Funny thing… this works for EVERYTHING.

In fact, the same thing happened when I started using this blogging system. I had been feeling so crappy about my blog and google, and spam comments… but here I didn’t have to worry about any of that stuff (other people who built the platform do it for me), and I just had to write ~ I started feeling so good about blogging again. My income grew. My traffic grew. It was all because I found a way to feel good again. Watch the video in the sidebar if you need a way to feel good about your blogging! It really is quite amazing the power of feeling good.

It’s what makes losing weight easy. It’s what makes making money easy. It’s what makes relationships easy. It’s what… well, it’s what makes LIFE easy.

Feel good. You deserve it.
