Do you have a “catch phrase” or a tagline?
If you don’t… you should.
Let me tell you a story.
A while back I was going through my business, trying to gain clarity (because it’s the MOST important thing). I was trying to come up with an overarching idea that I wanted to share through my business.
The idea had to be big enough that I could fit ALL the stuff I do under its umbrella, whether it was blog posts, or ads, or facebook posts… everything.
What I came up with… because it’s really what it is all about for me, is sharing the message that Wahm Life Rocks.
Because it DOES!! and so many people think it isn’t a possibility for THEM.. but oh, baby it is.
So, now when I go to Facebook, or create an ad, I want to, in some way, shape or form, share the idea that Wahm Life Rocks.
The first thing I did was go out and get the domain (of course). I use the domain to hold my opt in pages, and I also use it for subdomains to create pretty links for people to follow.
I had a little video made, I’m not sure exactly what I’m going to use it for yet, but it came out so cool… and I just love it so much!
(if you’d like to know how I did that, shoot me a message on Facebook, and I’ll share my secret )
I started using the hashtag #wahmliferocks on my Facebook and twitter posts (although not as consistently as I could be).
Next thing you know, I see a message in my facebook group that this work at home mom needs to learn more from me because my video is #1 for wahm life rocks.
I, of course, had to run over and check it out… turns out the WHOLE FIRST PAGE is all my links, and sites.
This got me seriously thinking about the importance of a tagline, or motto.
I can easily start spreading the motto wahm life rocks around social media, so that it becomes something people actually search for… when they DO, they’ll find me.
It is also a great way to “be known”. When people think of Jackie Lee… they think, wahm life rocks. When they, maybe one day, think about working from home themselves.. they think, oh… wahm life rocks. Even if they don’t remember MY name… and just remember the motto, when they google it… I’ll come up.
When you start thinking about all the ways you can start getting your motto out there you can get really creative, and the possibilities are endless.
So… how do you come up with and use a motto or tagline?
1. Keep it short.
The shorter the better. 3 or 4 words is the most you want to use. It makes it easier for people to remember… but it also helps with number 2.
2. Make it catchy.
Make your motto something people will easily remember. If it can rhyme… all the better!
3. Make it you.
Use words or phrases that YOU would use in your every day language. You want your motto to represent you… so make sure the language is you 100%.
4. Spread the motto.
Think about all the different ways you share the motto, hashtags, bumbers on your videos, taglines on your website, in your signature of your emails… the possibilities are endless.
Start brainstorming…
I’d love to hear what you come up with! If you want to share your tagline, or just do a little brainstorming, come on over to my facebook group, and share in this thread!
