Daisy Girl Magnet Dolls Dollhouse It’s Been a Year… Has It Stood the Test of Time?

Hanna loves to play dolls. She really loves Magnetic dolls.

I’d never heard of magnetic dolls before, but over the last few years Hanna has pretty regularly received sets of magnetic “paper dolls”. I was thrilled to see them the first time because they were so cool! They really are like paper dolls, but they are wood and magnetic, so they are much more durable. She’s gotten a Daisy Girls dress up set which came in a handy carrying case, and had 40 pieces, between the dolls and all the clothes. Having a bag for them all to go in was really nice.

Last year, it was my mom who picked out more Daisy Girls and she opted for the Daisy Girl Dollhouse. This is a gorgeous doll house.  It’s 2 feet tall, and 17 inches across. The dollhouse itself is solidly constructed and very sturdy. It is only 2 inches deep ~ which is more than enough room for the dolls and for your child to play. It comes with supports you add to the sides to hold it up right. (It took us a bit to figure this one out, that’s why the dollhouse is leaning in the picture… that was a mom deficiency… not a product deficiency lol)

This set comes with the dollhouse, 4 dolls, 2 pet dolls and over 130 different outfit pieces. Yes, I said over 130 pieces. I tell my mom whenever she mentions getting something with a gazillion pieces to get a plastic tub to go with it. She didn’t do that… however, when we opened the dollhouse there was a nice wooden box with a sliding plastic lid to keep all the pieces in. That’s great in theory, but in practice there are too many pieces for the box size and the lid doesn’t fit on correctly and it doesn’t stay on. We did end up getting a container to put all the pieces in. The small box it came with was just a little too tight.

Anyway, there’s a set of clothes for rainy weather, activities, tea party, bath time, swimming, cooking, everyday clothes, bedtime, dress up, and winter. As you can see there is a wide variety of clothes which will help create a variety of playing scenarios for your kiddo.

Hanna got this for Christmas over a year ago, and she still plays with this set quite regularly. She now makes up different stories, and characters for all the dolls. I can hear her in her room making up stories for the dolls, and scenarios they need to change clothes for. I can hear her incorporating the animals into the family activities as well.

The dolls come with a small block of wood in the bottom to help them stand up. She banged one of the dolls the first day and the block popped out, but it will be simple enough to fix with some super glue. This doll house is a wonderful find, and as long as you can contain the pieces when your kiddo’s done playing it will definitely provide hours and hours of imaginative play.

Pros: 

Tons of imaginative play.

Plenty of pieces to keep the ideas coming for different ways to play.

Cons:

Blocks popped out of the doll (but they are easily fixed with hot or super glue)

So it seems the construction could use some work, but anything that keeps my kiddo’s imagination on overdrive for this amount of time still gets a thumbs up in my book. I’d much rather have her upstairs playing with the dollhouse than begging to watch tv.

We’ve had this magnetic paper doll set for over a year now. While the blocks did pop out of a couple dolls, this magnetic doll set continues to pull her in for imaginative play even still. When she pulls this out it can be hours of fun. I highly recommend the Daisy Girls magnetic dolls, and this doll house set in particular.
