TRUST EVERYONE! (not?…WHY not?)

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Why not trust everyone?

Because everyone has an angle. The trouble is, everyone has a “hidden list” that only they know about. The “list” is really an attitude, more than it is a list. Some people have the attitude that anyone who wants to get permission for something should be denied that permission. Another person may have the attitude that anyone who wants to get permission to do something, really, should not have to ask permission, and so, this person’s attitude is to give permission almost blindly for everything. Different attitudes, see?

DO YOU SEE THAT PEOPLE INDIVIDUALLY HAVE THEIR OWN ATTITUDE, AND THAT OTHER PEOPLE’S ATTITUDES AFFECT YOUR ABILITY TO GET THINGS DONE? This is the problem between people: their attitudes and persuasions do not match one another.  Views are all different, person to person. It has always been that way, and will always be. SO HOW CAN ANYONE BE GOVERNED WITHOUT STEPPING ON THE INDIVIDUAL AND HIS ATTITUDE?

This is the age-old problem in living in the world: other people’s decisions.

So what can we do about this? Well, there were some Badasses(bad-asses) around, about 240 years ago in Pennsylvania, USA,  and they recognized that there were a few people with all the resources and weapons and military and police power to shut down anyone. If someone wanted to sell something to someone else, they made it difficult. Also difficult was the idea of expressing one’s opinion. This was modified by those in power. So, these “badasses” of the day, 240+ years ago in Pennsylvania, got together and risked their lives and everything they had, to go up against these power-weilding few, and they wrote a huge threatening letter. Openly, they did this. They all signed their names to it. They declared that their “area” was no longer under the jurisdiction of the English government. They declared a new government was to take the place of the English one. AND THEY HAD A PLAN ABOUT HOW PEOPLE COULD ACTUALLY TRUST PEOPLE  WITH LESS WORRY THAN BEFORE.

TODAY, ALMOST NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT THIS. My grandfather knew about it. When I went into the town where he lived when I was about 14, my grandfather had a little book in his pocket. This book was written right after those Badasses wrote their open threatening letter. This little book was the book that the entire U.S.A. recognized as LAW up til around 1941. It was considered “the answer” when in real and important disagreement between people. This little book had in it the power–and WAS THE SOURCE OF POWER–for the entire huge success of the mightiest, toughest, most beautiful country on the face of the Earth in recent times. Individual people felt protected by what was in that book, and so did company owners feel protected, and so did individuals in all government departments, as they could know that their actions fell under the jurisdiction of that one, very simple book, containing what was known–completely familiarily, as The Constitution of the U.S.A.

SO…tell me, and answer this question for yourself, if you hearing it asked for the first time: WHAT IS WAR’S PURPOSE? Answer: to change the thinking of a population. Ok. Next question: WHAT DID THE U.S. POPULATION BEGIN TO ACCEPT AFTER WWII? Answer: that their government agents and agencies had power to ignore the little book that was in my Grandfather’s pocket. The individuals felt less and less important, and they each began to accept that THEIR INDIVIDUAL VOICE AND ACTIONS WERE NO LONGER IMPORTANT.  The poplulation was steam-rolled over by large powerful entities, now solidified by economic and political muscle. The small farmers went out of business. The individual small manufacturing “mom and pop” size entities got bought up by the larger entities, and were forced out in ways that only large solidified competitors knew how to do it.  IN SHORT, WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THAT WORLD WAR, WAS THAT THE INDIVIDUAL NO LONGER FELT IMPORTANT.  And he gave up his freedoms, guaranteed in that little book. And when millions of individuals agree to be complacent and watch injustice overwhelm the area, it takes real courage to oppose it.

So WHAT IS THE SOLUTION? How can individuals take back their freedoms? How can anyone expect to have any freedoms in the coming years? HEAR IS THE SOLUTION: TEACH WHAT IS IN THAT LITTLE BOOK–AGAIN!!–TO EVERYONE.

Want your children to have the best education around? One that stresses the importance of reading the writings of those American “Badasses” of about 240 years ago? Send them to a college that won’t waste your time and money and won’t insult your intelligence. Send them to Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. Go now to: www.hillsdaleforliberty.com .  See them at: www.hillsdale.edu .

I recommend that you keep your own counsel. In other words, I recommend that you read and study the legacy that was handed down and that ALMOST CREATED the idea of keeping your own counsel. Read and study the writings of the philosophers of the late 1700s on the American continent. Oh, but you say, “times have changed and we need to move ahead and cannot go back now…” Yeah, right.
