Preparing For The Wolf – Developing A “Brick People” Mentality
What are you made of?
As children we all heard the story of “The Three Little Pigs”
Although quite entertaining there is a much deeper meaning. The story represents a metaphor for life. It represents our choices and prepares us for the obstacles and challenges that we face in life.
The straw, the wood and the brick represents our mindset. We build our lives using these same materials. The three homes that the pigs live in represents your life and the end result of those choices.
Do You Have A Straw, Wood or Brick mindset?
Today, let’s focus on the “Brick People” Mindset
Brick People have a plan for their lives. They are go getters and achievers. They realize that there is no substitute for success and that failure is not an option.
Brick People bring value and take pride in all that they do. Brick People will re-educate themselves and find creative ways to achieve their goals. They don’t look back over their lives with regrets but use life experiences as stepping stones to success. Brick People understand that if they don’t learn from their past, that history will repeat itself.
Brick people never give into the Wolf or to their challenges or obstacles. Brick people are the over-comers. They run the race and finish their course.
Developing A Brick People Mindset
When you know your mind-set it will help you to understand where you are and will give you some insight and clarity as to where you will ultimately end up.
In the story each of the pigs built a house that they thought would stand up to the wolf.It wasn’t until each of them were facing the wolf that they found out if their choices would stand up under pressure.
The strength and integrity of your house must be decided upon before you start to build your future. Build your house with a solid foundation. Have the brick mentality so that when the Wolf or an obstacle comes you have the footing to stand and your hopes and dreams don’t come tumbling down around you.
Everything that we experience is in direct correlation to the choices and decisions that we have made. It’s okay because this is how change, growth and maturity occurs.Lord knows that I have built my share of straw houses.
Good or bad we all have a story that represents the sum total of our choices. But only you can write the ending to that story. Believe in yourself, set goals and a make a plan to take total control of your lie. Be conscious of the choices that you make and take captive the thoughts that you allow in your mind.
Your life is filled with challenges and disappointments. Use each of them as a learning opportunity and teachable moment. The things that you experience are all an investment in your future and will page huge dividends later on in life. Turn your negatives into positives. Learn to be responsible with your decisions as they directly will impact your life.
When you look at a wall…think about each of the bricks that it took to build that wall. Study its’ foundation and think about the process. Like building a brick wall, success is a process! The wall was built one brick at a time. Don’t focus on success, focus on the steps and success will follow.
You Are “Brick People”
You are all winners! You are an achiever and I challenge you think an live like a winner!
See You At The Top!!
