Life Lessons From The Chinese Bamboo Tree (Video Review)

Have you ever heard of the Chinese Bamboo Tree? If you haven’t, you are in for a treat. Once I heard this story, it provided me with life lessons that I am sure will impact, motivate, and educate you as well.

Seeing this video hit me pretty hard. I can relate to the farmer oh so well….but I learned several valuable lessons from the story.
I learned that it takes a visionary to plant the seed. It takes a visionary to be patient and hold on to their dream no matter the wait. The visionary must understand that long term objectives are achieved by today’s actions.
The visionary must tend to watering his seeds of prosperity EVERY DAY, even if immediate results don’t present themselves. The visionary gets their patience and faith tested. Doubts emerge. But the visionary CANNOT GIVE UP on their dream.
In order to take care of short term needs, the visionary may have to plant other seeds to take care of their families. But the harvesting of their dreams must never stop, take a back seat to, or be pushed aside by immediate, short term gratification.
As years pass with no immediate results, it is easy to quit. But the visionary does not. They continue to harvest their seeds and hold on to their vision.
There will be people who laugh, mock, minimize and question the visionary. But the visionary does not listen. They know sight allows one to see what is in front of them, but vision allows you to see what is unseen. What others don’t see.
Times will get rough. The will of the visionary will be tested. Quitting will cross your mind. Anger and frustration may mount. But quitting does not.
Then, as soon as it seems like there is no sign of breakthrough, it happens. Results begin to happen. All of the hard work, faith and vision becomes reality.
What appears to the outside world to be “overnight success” was really the result of YEARS of hard work and dedication. Perseverance when the average person would have given up. Forever.
Now the same people who laughed, mocked and tried to minimize the farmer are singing the farmer’s praises. They are inspired and because of that inspiration, they set out to achieve great things in their own lives.
The farmer has made a lasting impact on the world. A legacy has been created. The lives of their family has been improved for generations to come. Hope has been restored. New sails of vision have been cast.
You cannot achieve uncommon results doing common things. You cannot have a life different from those of the masses doing the exact same things that the masses do. That’s what the farmer knows.
I am that farmer. You are that farmer. Make your mark.
