Jang Dong Gun as Kim Do Jin – A playboy who is an architect and owns his own architectural firm with Tae San.
Kim Ha Neul as Seo Yi Soo – An ethics teacher for a high school, she umpires baseball games in her spare time.

A Gentleman’s Dignity Korean Drama Review:
Here we have a fun and lighthearted romantic comedy of 4 men in their 40s – their love life, their successes and their failures. At first I was a little bit iffy about whether or not this would be a good drama to watch. To be honest, it took me several tries to get through the first couple of episodes, but by episode 4 I was hooked. Because these men are in their 40s, there isn’t much drama about mom or dad not “allowing” girl to be with guy or guy to be with girl (except for the Meari bit). Everyone has an occupation and are successful at their chosen profession.
What makes this drama fun is that although these adults are supposed to be mature, they are immature in so many ways. It’s like these four guys are teenagers trapped in older men’s bodies. I loved watching the intro to each chapter where they will show the crazy things these guys did when they were younger. It must have been super fun for these guys to be acting and dressing like teenagers for these parts. It brings the whole drama together to see what these 4 guys have been through to develop the friendship that they have, today.
I didn’t care much for Yi Soo’s character because she was just a little too ditsy for a woman in her 30s…but then again, it sort of goes along with the fluffy tone of the show with guys in their 40s still acting like teenagers, so I’ll let that slide.
This drama was entertaining for the sake of watching 40 year olds make fools of themselves while growing up and growing old. But, I docked it a point for the conflict the writers created between the lead characters and another point for drawing out the show so long that I lost some interest part way through . This drama is just a fluffy drama to watch if you just want to be entertained with men/boys antics and not think much. After all, boys will be boys — even in to their 40s I guess. 🙂

A Gentleman’s Dignity is about the lives of four men, Do Jin, Tae San, Choi Yoon, and Jung Rok. Do Jin and Tae San are architects and partners in owning their own architectural firm. Yi Soo is a high school ethics teacher and umpires for a baseball team in her spare time. She has had a secret crush on Tae San for several years but Tae San is actually dating her room mate, Se Ra.
When playboy Do Jin meets Yi Soo at a baseball game, he tries to flirt with her but is surprised that he’s getting no where with her. He begins to have a one-sided love for her and tries to woo her with all of his playboy tactics while she secretly harbors feelings for Tae San.
Tae San is crushed when he finds out Se Ra has no intentions of getting married to him. Meari has pretty much had a life time crush on Choi Yoon. He doesn’t accept her advances because he is friends with her brother and still loves his wife that passed away four years ago very deeply.
Jung Rok is married to an uber rich woman, Min Sook, but still tries to flirt with other women.
Will Yi Soo end up with Do Jin or Tae San? Will Choi Yoon finally accept Meari’s feelings for him? Will Min Sook forgive Jung Rok or will they end up divorcing?
