Self Image: The Guiding Light
Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.
The main reason I began this type of personal development work was because of the influential orators and authors who communicated the Laws of Life to me in an understandable way. Such people as Bob Proctor, Napoleon Hill, Maxwell Maltz. One fact which all the leaders throughout time have agreed on is that we become what we think about.
Our thoughts truly become driving forces in our lives, because the pictures you create in your mind of the world you want to live in will be a sort of guiding light that alters your judgement influencing you to take the steps necessary in accomplishing that end. This is personal development, this is self image.
My mentors taught me to hold the image in my mind of the life I wanted, the business I wanted, the relationships I wanted. And after finally realizing the power of this activity I began to endlessly practice it, and my life changed. I started sponsoring 2-4 people a day in my business. My blog began to get millions of views a day, people are following me. With your image firmly held in your mind it begins to take on a life of itself and stays in your mind all day. It’s exhilarating to say the least because seeing the picture in your mind clearly releases an array of wonderful emotions, inspiriting you on and on. And through study you will gain insight on how to change your self image and fulfill that image though your action by the natural induction of cause and effect.
In the beginning it takes intense will power to hold the proper self image, because your old mental conditioning will try to discourage you by saying “This stuff is stupid, this will never work”, but if you persist you will soon come to find out of your hidden power and will begin to attract new resources and opportunities from the Source of life.
What keeps me going is while I hold the picture of what I want in my mind it gives me such amazing feelings of already enjoying it and this bliss is what confirms the realization that thoughts truly become things. Because I now see my business prosperity increasing, about 90 percent of new customers go all in through the sales process, I am more influential than ever, and I truly am at peace with the Universe and how to operate in it!
My self image has taken on a life of its own but still under my control. Ya see before I learned how to wield the conjuring force of self image, I was constantly bombarded with fear, because I was confused. Confused about life, my feelings, how to converse with others, and in all attain happiness. So these were the dominating thoughts in my head and they made up my self image. This was disastrous to say the least, but a great learning experience, you have to start somewhere, remember you might not have been able to control where you started, but you do control where you finish.
Pick a self image that is worthy of you.
Close your eyes, form an image of what you want in life, then become that image
With gratitude, Trent
