Do you ever worry about what people will think of you if you tried something different? Especially in a small town where everyone knows you. They pretend to know you and your whole life story. A friend of mine told me the other day that someone had told her that MY LIFE COULDN’T BE THAT GREAT BECAUSE OF WHO I WAS FRIENDS WITH AND WHO I WAS MARRIED TO! 
It’s just small town chatter.
See I did grow up in an even smaller town than the one I moved to when I got married. I lived on a country road where everyone had a pretty large piece of property and no one really talked about other people because we didn’t see other people much, and if we did it was either in school or church on Sunday! It was a peaceful living.
When I moved to the town my husband grew up in, it was totally different. Everyone really knew everyone and Small Town Chatter WAS A BIG DEAL! I had a lady come in my Hair Salon one day, she needed a haircut. I was busy cutting someone else and I told her that I would be with her in just a minute. As I was cutting the client I had in my chair, she started talking, asking me who I was, where I was from and so on. I proceeded to tell her who I was married to and who all my husband’s people were and she got up opened the door, and slammed it so hard that I thought the window panes were going to shatter. I thought well if you want to judge me based on who I am married to then that is your decision, I didn’t let it bother me. Just to let you know that happened on more than one occasion by more than 1 person.
When I Closed My Hair Salon The Small Town Chatter Really Started.
I closed my Hair Salon only a few months ago and we moved only a few weeks ago. The small town chatter really started. Hateful things you couldn’t imagine, but I was used to it so I didn’t let it bother me. You have to get over what people think of you and you have to be a strong person. I had went through many things in my life while living there and everyone knew about them or thought they knew about everything. I knew the chatter would start as soon as I decided to start an online business and close my Salon.
You really have to ask yourself, are those people going to contribute to my success? The answer is NO! So who cares what everyone will think of you for doing something new and exciting, something that small minded people don’t understand.
I Broke Through The Small Town Chatter
I have great friends in that small town, and some family. I had a great business that no longer fit my needs as a mother. I made the decision to change for myself, not for anyone else.
I am not this billionaire Internet marketer, I have had success with my new business and will continue to grow, and it allows me to have the freedom I need with my children and my family. It fits my needs, and it doesn’t matter what everyone thinks about it. The thing is, your going to have people really excited about it and then your going to have people look at you like your crazy, and that’s the ones I love, because end the end, I did something they didn’t have the courage to do.
