Learn To Make Money On Squidoo And Some Alternatives

Squidoo.com is the most popular site on the Internet for publishing pages about your passions, and is a great way to find new customers for your business.
 
Squidoo offers a very attractive proposition – build as many webpages, or “lenses”, on squidoo.com as you like, for free, they will help promote them for you, as well as people will find them through Google search results. It’s a great marketing opportunity for your products, you can make money on squidoo with google adsense and other sales, and it will never cost you a penny (except 50% of any revenue – keep reading).
 
Seth Godin, the founder of Squidoo, describes a lens as “[focusing] light and [showing] us what we need to see.” Lenses are much like blog posts (like this one), except they’re on a single subject. The site also allows content creators to make money on squidoo from referral links to sites like Amazon.com and Ebay.
 

The site also has a revenue sharing model,  where 50% of all revenue goes to the lensmasters. Squidoo and its lenses rely on advertising and affiliate links to create revenue.  Nearly half of lensmasters donate their royalties to any of 65 featured charities.
Squidoo gets over 1 million visits per day. It gets blogged on over 1,000 times per day. It has a pagerank of 8 (not the individual “lenses”, but the core domain). Has pages on almost every topic you can think of. And it’s waiting for you to take advantage of it!
 
Squidoo is a website Google trusts. This means your message will be seen by your ideal customers, and found by searchers, because Squidoo is known to rank very well in search results (learn more about google and it’s “trust factor” ).
 
If you make some pages about your products, and tell your story about how they helped you save money/lose weight/etc, you can start finding more customers online – customers you would never get otherwise – this is the real way to make money on squidoo!
 

~ Starting To Make Money On Squidoo

 
Begin by registering at www.squidoo.com. Choose a username that is either your actual name or something related to your business, upload a profile photo, fill in your author bio, and add all your existing links to your profile page.
 
Squidoo is easy to use, and getting started takes a matter of minutes. Using Squidoo to its full potential, however, requires some of my Success Tips below.

To get your Squidoo pages rank higher in Google, and to get more clicks to your sales website…

1. Get Tagging

 In the sidebar of your page (when you’re editing it) you’ll see a space to add Tags. A tag is a keyword or keyphrase that is related to your page. As a general rule use about 20 tags on your lenses, and include the words and phrases that you want to be found for in Google. Make sure they are related to your page, for example, this page is focused on how you can make money on squidoo, so that will be in a tag, and make sure you’ve included them in the actual content as well.
 

2. Craft a Compelling Title

 Grab attention! I see so many dull titles every day. Don’t just list your keywords. Don’t use a title that’s been used before. Don’t be afraid to make it long [and use brackets]. Your titles will decide whether people click to your pages or not.
 

3. Link Your Bio

 At the top of every one of your Squidoo pages will be your Author Bio Box. This is where a picture of you and a descriptive paragraph will be displayed for all visitors to see. Your Bio Box is a great space to talk about your income opportunity, your products, and to drive people to your website. Make sure you include clickable links to your website!
 

4. Polls and Guestbooks

 The more your visitors interact with your page, the more likely they will be to stick around and click your links. Simple as that. Get your visitors involved in some way. Get them invested. Get them voting in a Poll module, or writing their opinion in a Guestbook module.  The keythat will allow you to make money on squidoo is 100% how many people see your lens.  The more people it attracts, the more chances you have to sell them a product, or have them click on an ad, or whatever different method you have so you make money on squidoo.
 

5. Images Galore!

 There is nothing that looks more boring for a web surfer than a solid chunk of text. You need to inject some white space and some images into your message, to carry the reader’s eyes down the page. Images ALWAYS make your text more readable. Just don’t make your images glittery and flashing…
 

6. Link Link Link

 The best place to put your website links on a Squidoo page is in the introduction. It’s been shown to have an extremely high click-through-rate. Make your keywords bold, and make them clickable. Also include your links throughout your content, but don’t go too wild. Squidoo has a rule that you can’t link to the same website more than 9 time per page.
 

7. Be Contactable

 Make sure you include a way for people to contact you. Several ways. In your profile settings turn Contact to ON. Include your Twitter link. Your Facebook profile. A link to your Contact page on your website or blog. Don’t remain a mystery if people want to get in touch to buy your products or start their own business in your downline!
 Squidoo will help you brand your name online as an expert on your company’s products, and you will grow your business as a result. So don’t stop at 1 lens. Share all your knowledge and advice!

I do both… I double my exposure.

 I see this as a great addition to a Squidoo business.  Take a look around the site and watch some of the videos.  I was impressed when I first saw it.
 You can make money on Squidoo, and on this platform.  I’ve done Squidoo in the past, actually I continue to have lenses that provide revenue (gotta love Squidoo for that)!
