Free Marketing Tip #1 – Where to Start?

Whether you are new to marketing, or a seasoned vet… I intend to share some FREE marketing tips that we’ve learned over the past several years.  What I am going to share has made a LOT of people a LOT of money (including my family).

Some of this might appear as basic.  But if you will take time to research and person who is a professional in and arena… you will notice one trait that they all have in common.  They ALL learn to MASTER the basics.

So without further ado,  I will get onto Marketing Tip #1… which covers, “Where to Start?”

Marketing – Let’s Keep it Simple

Free Marketing Tip #1 – Start Here

The first thing you are going to need, before you can start marketing is a PRODUCT or SERVICE to sell.  There is a wide array of different things you can do here.  Some people can have problems narrowing this first step down; so I will cover some basics of what I think about, when I looking for something to market.

Things to think about when deciding what to market:

1) What am I passionate about?

This could be ANYTHING in life.  There is no wrong answer.  This is VERY IMPORTANT, because you want to be able to have fulfillment and joy in what you do.  It is fun to be paid for doing something you enjoy.

You might be passionate about family… in this case you could break it down a step further..

So Family would be your category, then you would want to narrow it down to a subcategory… i.e.

I am passionate about helping young married couples form a strong foundation in their marriage… through teaching them how to love, respect, communicate, etc.  I want to give them practical advice they can use in everyday life, to keep their marriage strong.

Now this is very basic.. but it gives you an idea.

Other topics might include:

1) Helping People Make Money.

2) Helping People Raise Children.

3) Helping People Lose Weight.

Free Marketing Tip #1 – Why are You Marketing in the First Place?

The main thing on this first step, is to make sure it is something you are passionate about… and then narrow it down once you find your main category.  Notice that all of the categories I shared in the examples above included helping people in some way.

I believe that being in business is one of the noblest things an individual can do… IF they have the right heart and intentions of WHY they are in business.  Of course businesses have to make money, but if that is the main reason you are doing something, you will burn out or never have a true sense of fulfillment.

Being in business is ALL ABOUT making your customers life better, by providing a GREAT product or SERVICE that meets or exceeds their needs and wants.

Your customers will notice through your marketing, if you are in business to help them or just to make money for yourself.  Your heart and emotions will come across in everything you do.  So make sure that your heart is in the right place.  This will be the foundation of LONG TERM SUCCESS.
