Backing Up Your Computer

Computer data can be very valuable to us, especially those of us who make a living on the computer, that’s why backing up your computer is crucial. Over the last several years, the computer has grown on all of us, making our lives so much easier. For that very reason, it’s easy to tell that if we lost our computer data, it would completely destroy a majority of us.
Losing data can be an overwhelming thought to say the least. Computers store data, although machines have been known to fail. Even though the computer has become a lot more reliable over the years, it is virtually impossible to prevent computers from losing data.
You don’t need to take this lying down through, as you can indeed fight back by properly backing up your computer. The ideal way to ensure that you never lose your precious data, is to back it up and keep backing it up. You should be backing up your computer data at least once a week, with once per day being the recommended way to do it.
Why Backing Up Your Computer With a flash drive Isn’t a Good Option
In the past, and even today, the external flash drive is the main method used to back up computer data. Even though they store a small amount of data, they are easy to access, easy to use, and you can find them cheap in just about every big box or office supply store around. There are two problems with this type of backup. First of all, these drives are usually very small and often made to fit on a keychain or in your pocket. This makes them very easy to lose. I have lost three of them so I upgraded to a bigger external drive. But there was a problem with this solution as well, they CRASH too! I had one directly connected to my PC as my method of backing up the computer and what do you think happened? You guessed it, I started hearing a loud spinning noise one morning and was unable to get any of my backed up files off of it. These hard drives are notorious for crashes!
Those of you who are looking to take things to the next level should look into backing up your computer with a backup cloud service. Backing up your computer to the cloud is something that everyone should do, as it is indeed the best and most reliable way to backup your computer.
When you create a backup of your entire hard drive, it will copy all of your information, so if something happens you’ll always have your data. Doing a full backup of your hard drive is simple once your connected to the proper back up service. You can even automate the process and set it to backup your computer at least once a week. So if what you have on your computer is very important, you’ll find it more than worth the effort and time needed to back things up. Even better though is that once you start backing up your computer to the cloud, you can access those files anywhere, on another computer, on your cell phone, or even a tablet.
Why Backing Up Your Computer With Discs Isn’t A Good Option
Another way you can back up your data, programs, and files, is to burn them directly to a data CD or DVD but again you run the risk of either losing your cd/dvd or scratching them to the point that your data is not readable. Alot of people are burning data and backing up their computer files directly to discs as their method of backup , but backing up the entire hard drive to a cloud service is the most reliable way of backing up your data.
Whether it’s for your business or for personal reasons, you cant go wrong backing up your computer with a cloud backup service. You should always strive to back things up properly, as this will ensure that the data will always be there when you need it. This way, if your computer happens to crash or you lose everything on your hard drive, you’ll always have your backup files to go back to. This in itself can save you a lot of time, effort, and quite possibly even money – just for the simple fact that the files are all but a copy away to restore.
