Have you ever been curious why people don’t join your MLM business?
There are a few reasons that people won’t join you, but I’m going to share the biggest reason why in this article.
You’re might be surprised to find out why, so rather than tell you directly, I’m going to illustrate using a story I heard recently.
The Real Reason Why People Don’t Join Your MLM Business
Recently, I heard a speaker tell a good story that I think explains why people don’t join your MLM business, or direct sales business.
It even explains why people won’t do business with you for any reason, regardless of your business.
Here’s the story:
Scene: A court room in which where a person is on trial for murder. There is strong evidence the defendant is guilty; however, there is no corpse.
In the defense’s closing statement the lawyer for the defendant, knowing that his client is guilty and that it looks like he’ll probably be convicted, resorts to a clever trick.
“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I have a surprise for you all,” the lawyer says as he looks at his watch. “Within one minute, the alleged victim … the person presumed dead in this case … will walk into this court room,” he says and he looks toward the courtroom door.
The jury, somewhat stunned, all look on eagerly.
The judge looks at the door.
Gradually, every member of the audience in the courtroom turns to look at the door, too.
The defense lawyer stays focused on his watch, counting the seconds.
30 seconds pass.
40 seconds.
50 seconds.
The room is tingling with anticipation of the door flying open at the one minute mark.
A minute passes.
Nothing happens.
The defense lawyer looks up from his watch and addresses the jury.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize. I obviously told you something that is not true. But you all looked on with anticipation. I, therefore, put it to you that there is reasonable doubt in this case as to whether anyone was killed. Because there is reasonable doubt, I insist that you return a verdict of not guilty.”
The jury retires to deliberate.
Within just a few minutes, the jury returns.
The judge addresses the Foreman of the jury. “Have you reached a verdict?”
The foreman announces, “We, the jury, find the defendant guilty of murder.”
The audience of the courtroom gasps.
“But how?” inquires the defense lawyer. “You must have had some doubt; I saw all of you stare at the door.”
The Foreman of the Jury answered, “Oh, we did look. But we were also watching you and your client. And neither of you were watching the door, which demonstrated to us that neither of you believed the victim would appear.”
The Moral of the Story
The moral of the story is quite simple: Don’t expect anyone to believe in something you don’t believe in yourself.
Your friends, your family, and everyone you meet is watching you closely to see if you believe in your company, the compensation plan, and the products.
If you don’t really believe you’ll obtain financial freedom through your company’s compensation plan, your prospects won’t believe it either and won’t join.
If you don’t use the company’s products or services yourself, you won’t be able to talk about the products to other people.
If you look away during the company video to check emailon your SmartPhone, your prospects will think you’re “bored” with the situation, and not take you seriously.
You’ll never be able to convince someone to do something you’re not willing to do yourself.
But David, I DO Believe!
Do you?
Wearing the company logo on your shirts, jackets, and headgear is notproof of belief.
Reading affirmations every day and having a clear “why” is notproof of belief.
Attending a company event with thousands of other screaming people is notproof of belief either.
Belief comes from conviction. Conviction that you are in the absolute best company in the world with the best product in the world, and the best compensation plan in the world. Bar none. No questions asked.
Belief comes from certainty. Certainty that no matter how long it takes, you will succeed in your business, and that you will find “the right people” as long as you commit to taking the correct daily actions. You’ll make it to the top of the mountain, or die trying.
Belief comes from making a decision. Making a decision means that you choose one company and one compensation plan. You give up all other distractions, and make a whole decision of your mind, body and spirit to do “whatever it takes ethically and morally” to be a success in your business.
You have to Become Bulletproof
Too many people join an MLM or direct sales company with the attitude of “I’ll just try it and see how it works for a few days.” When no one joins their business, they complain about how “these things don’t work”, or “it’s just a scam.”
People fail in this business because they don’t fully believe in the business, the opportunity, the compensation, themselves, or their own willingness to do the work to succeed.
When you truly believe in your heart of hearts that someone buying from you is better off for having your product or service ….
When you truly believe in your heart of hearts that someone can join your business and earn an extra $x per month within 90 days … and
When you truly believe in your heart of hearts that as long as you do the right activities, success will come to you and everyone else … then …
… you will be “9 feet tall and bulletproof” in your business.
People will flock to you and join your business almost without question.
You will still have people who won’t join your business … but you won’t care because you know that you will be a success with or without them.
So before you quit you current company because “people aren’t joining” … how’s your level of belief?
Go for success!
