In the following article, I’ve itemized a number of helpful ideas to help ensure you are getting people that want to receive email from you.

Permission Email Marketing Ideas

Idea #1:  Make sure your customers have a choice if your they want to receive communications or not. This will make it easy for someone to double check their desire for mail from your business. Many people feel this limits the number of email addresses they receive, but the problems it prevents makes the effort worth the trouble. It will help avoid unhappy customers or worse, spam complaints.

Idea #2:  Allow your readers who visit your website many opportunities to opt-in but avoid any pressure tactics to subscribe. This is the essence of permission email marketing, after all.  Make sure you let your customers know that their private information is safe with you and discuss the benefits of subscribing to your emails. Success in permission email marketing solely relies on the ability to acquire customer information.

Idea #3:  Be prepared to respond to emails if your email marketing is done properly. If you take too long to respond, you may miss a bunch of opportunities. If you provide good content that is free, be prepared to get responses to it from your recipients. You must be prepared and available as much as you can.

QUICK TIP: For your permission email marketing campaigns to be truly effective, every message needs a clear call to action. For example, if you are promoting a new product then you should encourage customers to go directly to that product’s page.

Idea #4:  Make sure your marketing via email stays consistent with your company branding. Every email message you send should utilize the design characteristics you are already using, such as logos and colors schemes. By making the emails recognizable, you can take advantage of the good reputation you have already worked hard to develop.

Idea #5:  When using permission email marketing, your messages should contain very few graphics. Quite a few email reading programs available block graphics, making it possible that many of your intended readers can’t read the email properly. Also, your emails may end up in the spam folder if they contain too many graphics.

Idea #6:  Use multi-part coding when you send out permission email marketing messages, in order to grab a larger market share. Emails that have both plain text content and HTML exist, and they can display correctly regardless of the option that the recipient likes. It may seem like extra work, but keeping subscribers makes it worth it in the long run. If you only use one delivery method, you could lose lots of potential readers.

Idea #7:  You could try following up to your potential prospects by sending a follow-up email to them that includes a free e-book. Attach a suggestion onto your email that tells them to request it now. The ending of the email could claim to order it by clicking on the link given below.

QUICK TIP: Try customizing your messages for your email recipients. Try including their name in the email so that it feels more warm and personal.

Idea #8:  Make sure you focus on holidays when you are sending on communications for email promoting. You should plan your entire year around these special days. Christmas, Easter and Valentine’s Day are excellent times to create a profitable email marketing promotion. Try to market a little extra during slow sales periods.
