3 Keys to Personal Growth:

Personal GrowthWorking towards personal growth is a very important aspect of life. People want to improve their lives in different ways: some want to lose weight, some want to have a better relationship, some want to develop muscles, some want to become wealthy. Whichever the case may be, personal growth is a gradual process.

Personal growth is possible only with motivation and determination. Without these 2 components, your efforts to improve your life and achieve personal growth might just go down the drain. In order to make sure this does not happen, there are three key things that one has to do and have:

Personal Growth: Inspiration – Goals – Action Plan

INSPIRATION

The first important thing to have is inspiration. This will help you on this journey to personal growth staying focused and will be a major element in motivating you. Most of the time people are motivated when they start but drop out later in the middle of the process, just before they see success. Inspiration is the solution to this problem as it will help you keep going.

There are two levels of inspiration, the low and the high. When inspiration is low personal growth might seem to be some load that one is forced to bear. When inspiration is high personal growth will seem to be more of a goal that one is obliged to achieve.

In fact, inspiration will help you to continue with your personal growth process even when you come across rough times. Some people may wonder what the inspiration in this situation may be, but becoming a better person is more than enough to assist you in following-up your personal growth process to the end.

GOALS

The problem for most people who want to improve themselves is that they do not have clear goals. They just don’t know exactly what they want. One may set a goal like this: “I want to lose weight”. This is not clear enough. Does this person wants to lose 1 gram or 10 kilograms? A better goal would be: “I want to lose 8 kilograms by December.”

You have to set some goals that you expect to achieve in you personal growth desires. By goals, I mean both short and long term goals. Short terms goals will assist you in the step by step process to achieve the long term goal. Short term goals will act as stepping-stones towards your final personal growth goal.

Long term goals will help you access the extent to which you have succeeded in your personal growth. They will gauge your performance and will let you know what is expected to finish the whole process. They will also give you something to look up to once you have attained them.

ACTION PLAN

If you have the inspiration and a goal, the last thing you need is an action plan to follow. Nobody can achieve their goals if they do not have an action plan. How are you going to do to serve your personal growth objectives?

The first thing would be to brainstorm and write your ideas on paper. You will see clearly what can be done, how it can be done and how long it will take to be done. You may re-order your ideas and make a daily schedule for the thing you plan to achieve.

The second thing would be networking with people of whom you are in the same process with. If you want to lose weight or quit smoking, joining a group of people with a common goal can greatly help you to be on track on your personal growth action plan. If you want to become an entrepreneur, joining a mastermind group will help you to be the person you want to become.

I hope you enjoyed this article about personal growth.
