How to Write Conversational Blog Posts

There’s no getting around it…

You can’t just slap any old post on your blog and expect to turn into a superstar overnight.

If you want to create conversational blog posts you need to publish quality content.

All the techniques in the world won’t result in sign ups, which is what traffic is ultimately all about.

But what exactly is “quality content”?

Forget “how to re-write PLR”.

Forget “the importance of writing your own, unique, original posts”.

Forget all those techniques and truisms.

Techniques aren’t what will instil heart into a blog post.

To produce top quality content, your conversational blog posts need three indispensable elements:

1) Passion — You need to get swept away by your subject and spend 24 hours a day eating, sleeping and breathing it. In fact, writing about your subject or talking about it should be as natural as breathing — and as irresistible as Frontierville!

2) Conversation — You need to be chatting with your readers: Not preaching to them. It should be a dialogue.

3) Relevance — this all interconnects with passion and conversation. If you have the first two elements covered, your relevance will flow just as easily. You want to be on top of what your target niche group is currently talking and thinking about, in order to be avidly read and followed.

Better yet, be one step ahead of what they’re going to be focusing on in the next few weeks — before they know it themselves. You do this by keeping a diligent eye on your industry, following quality feeds and authority sources.

You don’t need to write about the “new stuff” — you just have to be aware of it so you can produce the hottest material when the latest news, trend, method, etc., goes public.

Once you’ve got these three elements working for you on your blog, you’re well on your way to writing conversational blog posts and publishing quality content.

And the rewards are enormous…

When you take the time to position yourself as the “go to gal” in your niche by caring, you’ll gain:

o Devoted readers o Reader trust o Google authority status o Social media authority status o Opportunities for quality joint ventures

… And that’s just to start with!

You’ll also see things you didn’t expect happen.

You’ll be able to pick and choose:

o The best ad offers o The best interview requests o The most targeted blogs to guest on

When you get to this stage, your traffic will blossom exponentially and rapidly.

“But What if I’m Not a Writer?”

You don’t need to be a writer to capture people’s attention with your content. You simple need to CARE about the things they care about, and provide them with answers and information they need on the topic.

Let’s say you belong to a French Cooking group because French Cooking is your big love in life – the hobby that secretly gets in the way of your work!

You probably don’t have the slightest problem talking about food, preparation techniques, sauces, the virtue of butter, glazes, etc. etc. — even if you’re normally a little on the shy side.

Why? Because every single member of that group is there for only one reason. They all love French Cooking as much as you do, so conversation flows easily (in fact, at times, you wish they’d stop interrupting; then realize you’re so eager to contribute, you’re interrupting too!)

If you can talk passionately about a topic, you can write conversational blog posts about it! Nobody cares if you use the word “hopefully” in an incorrect manner when you’re letting them in on the real secret of how you make a great roux.

The “rule”? Use a spell checker to make things easy for your reader — not to win awards for perfect spelling!

The “Sixtieth-of-a-Second” Difference

There’s a hidden edge that all top athletes and performers live by: Fine tuning their flawless routines to make that sixtieth-of-a-second difference.

So don’t think that being passionate means you should ignore all those little writing tricks that win journalists awards.

Take the time to learn them and put them to use to make your conversational blog posts even better.
