Multiple Streams of Income are very tempting, the deal is too good to pass up, or is it?
In this article I will share with you some caution and concern about moving in this direction too fast.
This is a question that especially new inexperienced people are advised to think through very carefully. The biggest concern to deal with in this regard is whether or not the multiple streams of income will be synergistic with ones existing lines or not.
There is the fact that only between 3% and 5% of the prospects you come in contact with on a daily basis will subscribe to your primary offering. So from that premise alone, you do need a way to monetize the other 95% of the prospects who have opted in to your proposal. One way to approach the aspect of monetizing the 95% who will not be interested in your primary opportunity is through affiliate marketing.
Could Affiliate Marketing be an opportunity for multiple streams of income?
As you begin to get your internet marketing business up and running, you will subscribe to a variety of different things to do the business such as, auto responders, web hosting, lead generating programs, etc. Each of these programs will offer you the opportunity to earn commission as an affiliate when someone else subscribes to them through your effort. In fact, there are many people who make a very good income just running affiliate programs.
The best advice I have heard when it comes to the multiple streams of income decision is for an individual to make sure they master one program and really get to know what makes it work well before venturing out into something else. Every program with have their webinars and expect you to attend, thereby diverting your focus and opportunity to become an expert in one field at a time.
The same is said for learning different programs to promote your website and generate traffic. One is exposed to webinars about how a person is successful on Facebook, another’s secret sauce is all about Twitter and another about Linked In. Again, take one program at a time and master it well before subscribing to another. You will find this a much easier learning curve and perhaps taking this sharp of a focus you will find new and different ways to do it that will enable you to develop your own program to present to others via a webinar.
I would bet that just about every successful internet marketer has multiple streams of income and yet, each and everyone of them will tell you to not go there too early in your development. This was definitely hard for me to understand until I started hearing very successful people say that the minute they trimmed their product offering and began to focus on one primary line and even one method of lead generation, they really saw their success skyrocket.
In summary, I am confident that the best advice is the same as that old adage, you have to crawl before you walk and you have to walk before you run so let’s apply that same thing when it comes to multiple streams of income. You will probably do best by really focusing on one product and one form of promotion until you really master it before adding another income stream. One word of caution though, as you participate in the many webinars in this business, you really have to stick to your principles to make that decision a reality. The temptation is ever so great.
