8 Summer Barbecue Musts

Summer is in full swing, which means it’s time for the beach, the sun, and of course, backyard barbecues! From killer food and drinks to music and games, summer parties are all about casual fun. So how can you guarantee your guests will have a blast? Make sure your parties are the talk of the block with these eight tips!

 

1. Ample Seating: The great thing about summer barbecues is that you generally aren’t expected to set a table. Instead, just make sure you have lots of places for people to sit. Whether you place clusters of chairs around or put picnic blankets and/or pillows on the lawn, be sure to set up plenty of places to relax, socialize and of course, eat!
2. Citronella Candles: Considering the great host you are, your guests will party late into the evening. However, mosquitoes are NOT invited. Be sure to light some citronella candles to ensure your guests don’t leave with bug bites galore. We also love tiki torches, which add ambiance and also keep bugs away.
3. Keep Your Drinks on Ice: Hot day + warm beer = no fun. Large buckets filled with ice are the perfect way to keep all of your drinks cold throughout the party.
4. Music: Having the right music turns a good party into a great one. Pick several of your favorite songs ahead of time and compile them into the perfect playlist for a summer night.

6. Outdoor Games: Keep everyone entertained with outdoor games. We love Cornhole, Wiffle ball, Kadima or Catch Phrase.
7. Easy Clean-Up:  Save yourself a major mess by using disposable plates, cups and napkins.
8. Pretty Lighting: Ambiance plays a huge role in how people remember your parties. Outfit your backyard with string lights and candles to keep the party going strong.
