What Surfers are Saying about the GoPro Surf Edition Camera

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

If you are a surfer you would have probably used or seen a camera that you can put on your board. It is always fun to experiment with things like this and it is especially good seeing yourself after you download the images or the movie down to your laptop, but let’s face it, so far we can’t really say that anything has been that successful. Usually you will find that your camera will get lost in the ocean or shattered on a sand bar or a rock. You will probably not find the quality to be that marvelous either.

However, in saying that, after the GoPro Hero2 HD Surf edition camera came out out things really started to look up in terms of photography in the surfing world. We surfers just like to concentrate on the stoke generally speaking so we don’t want to mess around with different settings on the camera. This is where the GoPro is great because you just perch it on the end of your board like a tripod and it captures exactly what you are up to. You may be saying this has been done before. Well, indeed it has, but what this camera has which sets it apart is a nice wide angled lens which enables you to see a whole lot more of what is going on out there.

The second version that has been released has definitely got heads turning because the mount is more sturdy and there is even a leash that attaches itself to the board so that the camera does not go flying when you decide to attempt an aerial and it doesn’t come off.

I have to say that this is probably the best quality I have seen out of a sports camera. I know there are plenty of people out there who will agree with me. The software is easy enough to get your head around and before you know it you will be seeing some great action on your HDTV. to find out more about the features of this camera.
